Rationalise structure

Make the blog the basic unit of posting. Remove forums, story, book, page etc access.

Replace all the different categories with a single freetagging "tags" line

Images: Cobble some kind of gallery together? Or just transfer all images to blog posts??

I've changed the navigation

I've changed the navigation menu to remove most of the items. Hopefully this is less confusing.

Have taken out forums.

OpenID

Drupal 6 allows logging in using OpenID. We can also allow people to use their iww.org.au user account as an OpenID provider, so they can use the one identity/password across multiple sites/services.

I think that's a very good idea. I originally didn't b/c I didn't want people using openID to authenticate on iww.org.au and didn't really know how to deal with it all.

New theme

Check out http://drupal.org/project/Themes and nominate a favourite. There's countless "free web template" sites around, and we can modify any of those designs to work with the site, but the designs have to be under either a free software license or a free culture license.

Even better would be if somebody with a bit of graphic design flair designing something just for us. All you need to provide is some mockups in non-proprietary file formats.

I am blocked from posting

I am blocked from posting text to my blog as I cannot upload visual field as requested for jpgs etc tried several and got nowhere alas. Why has this new "feature" been put there and how do I overcome this ? V

microblogs

Thanks for all of the work you've done updating the website.

Can you explain the rationale for the microblogs: who is allowed to post and why they don't identify themselves? Is this free for anyone to post to and if so, is there any moderation required? What is the reasoning behind these and the other 'rules' for microblogging?
