UN Day

The United Nations Day celebrations 2011 commenced in Kuwait's Country Office on October 19th, 2011. The event marked the 66th anniversary of the organization's existence and was the first official celebration worldwide. UN Day 2011 in Kuwait was opened by Dr. Adam Abdelmoula, UN RC / UNDP RR, and included speeches from the State Minister of Planning and Development, H.E Mr. Abdulwahab Al-Haroun and the Undersecretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Acting Minister), H.E Mr. Khaled Al-Jarrallah, and. The attendees comprised two more Ministers: The State Minister of Municipalities, H.E. Dr. Fadil Safar, and the Minister of Health, Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer. read more

Kuwait launched 1st International Special Needs Conference

Summary: Kuwait is furthering its support of people with special needs or disabilities. Under the patronage of the Kuwaiti Emir and in partnership with UNDP, the first conference has taken place at the UN House to discuss the matters that pertains to individuals who live with forms of disabilities and special needs. read more
