Listen: The-Dream: "ROC"

by Ryan Schreiber & Carrie Battan on January 4, 2012 at 11:17 p.m.

The-Dream, aka Terius Youngdell Nash, aka the most in-demand R&B songwriter on the planet, has posted a new song on his website.

Fans are hopeful that this new track, titled "ROC", will be the first off his long-delayed album The Love IV (Diary of a Mad Man). The intended follow-up to 2010's acclaimed Love King was slated for a September 20 release last year on Def Jam, but pushed back due to "contract negotiations". The-Dream had said that The Love IV would feature guest spots from Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, Mary J. Blige, Lil Wayne, Dr. Dre, and R. Kelly.

Following news of the record's postponement, The-Dream released another album, 1977, for free online, under his birthname of Terius Nash.

Listen to "ROC" here, and read our interview with Nash from September of last year.
