NARAL Pro-Choice America /ˈnɛərəl/ is a 501(c)(4) organization in the United States that engages in political action and advocacy efforts to oppose restrictions on abortion and expand access to abortion.NARAL is often used as a short form of the name. The organization was formerly known as the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws, then the National Abortion Rights Action League, and later the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League.
NARAL has an associated 501(c)(3) organization, the NARAL Pro-Choice America Foundation, and an associated political action committee, the NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC. Founded in 1969, NARAL is the oldest abortion rights advocacy group in the United States.
The precursor to NARAL was the Association to Repeal Abortion Laws (ARAL). ARAL was an expansion of the "Army of Three" which was made up of pro-abortion activists Pat Maginnis, Rowena Gurner, and financial investor Lana Phelan. The Army of Three organized and distributed referral lists of illegal abortionists and held classes on do-it-yourself abortions in California.

In 1969 a group of concerned citizens joined together under the name the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws to fight for a woman's right to choose if and when she would have children. Fueled by the horrors of back alley abortions and a strong conviction that women's private reproductive-health decisions were theirs and theirs alone, in its early years NARAL gave voice to the previously silent American pro-choice majority. A short four years after its founding, NARAL celebrated its first monumental victory when the Supreme Court announced its decision in the landmark Roe v. Wade case. But the fight for reproductive justice didn't end with the strike of a gavel in 1973. As we prepare to celebrate our 45th anniversary, NARAL continues its work to sustain an empowered consti...
President Barack Obama recorded this message to our members and supporters for our Roe v. Wade 40th Anniversary Dinner on February 5, 2013.
Dr. Bernard Nathanson is the last surviving founding member of NARAL. He has an important message for South Dakota.
On January 21, 2017, hundreds of thousands of supporters of women's rights gathered in Washington, D.C. to send a clear message to anti-choice extremists: We won't go back.
In 2016, the Supreme Court will make a decision on a case that will have a major impact on abortion access, and the country will face an election that could change the fate of that issue forever. More than ever, this is the year to stand up against deliberate attempts to prevent women from accessing their right to reproductive healthcare. Stand together and show your support!

Pro-choice demonstrators who gathered at the Governor’s Mansion a year ago to protest a law that limits access to abortion were given cookies from McCrory. Today, they brought their own cookies — broken ones — to symbolize his broken promise.
I saw you dance in the flames,
But somehow you walked out unscathed.
Slip down your way through the minefield,
By a foot and slit Achilles' heels.
Kissing curves and time bombs
Blowing your mind without going off.
Of nine, you got one life left to go.
This time you won't need to worry at all.
Cause this is your surefire shot, don't miss.
Under the gun, but for once on the other side of it.
Taking now what you want and it's yours...
for the taking.
Like a war won without waging.
Just when I thought that your luck was spent,
You dodge another bullet.
Count your blessings, even those are second guessing.
Cause of nine there's one life left to go.
This time you won't need to worry at all
Cause this is your surefire shot, don't miss.
Under the gun, but for once on the other side of it.
Taking now what you want.
It's your surefire shot, don't miss
Under the gun, but for once you're a force to be reckoned with.
Taking now what you want and it's yours.
Knocked down the odds stacked against you.
Before you sound off that surrender,
Size up the forces against you
Before you drop down to your knees.
Believe me, I can say with certainty.
Cause this is your surefire shot, don't miss.
Under the gun, but for once on the other side of it.
Taking now what you want.
It's your surefire shot, don't miss
Under the gun, but for once you're a force to be reckoned with.
Taking now what you want (believe me)
