Interfaith Fellow Position

Join the Community of Living Traditions as an Interfaith Fellow

Are you interested in a three month to one year multifaith residency? Join Muslims, Christians, and other Jews who share a passion for peacemaking, food and environmental justice, undoing racism, and mulitifaith conflict transformation by becoming an Interfaith Fellow with the Community of Living Traditions at the Stony Point Center.

Join us for an opportunity to:

  • live in a multifaith community dedicated to nonviolence
  • learn about the religious dimensions of nonviolence in Judaism, Islam, and Christianity
  • deepen your relationship to your own faith tradition while learning about other traditions
  • participate in organizing on-campus and off-campus workshops and activist campaigns
  • enjoy the experience of building friendships, developing your professional skills, and participating in a community that is changing the world

We are looking for individuals who:

  • are grounded in Jewish, Muslim, Christian, or other spiritually oriented traditions and are dedicated to waging peace
  • are passionate about living in community and working with people of other traditions on issues of nonviolence and social justice
  • represent all kinds of diversity including race, ethnicity, age, gender, ability, sexual orientation, and religious background
  • have experience in and a commitment to racial justice, interreligious solidarity, and the practice of nonviolence

The Fellowship Experience:

Half of each resident fellow’s time is devoted to cultivating the community life and programming of the Community of Living Traditions (CLT). CLT life also involves time on and off campus to participate in and organize events on nonviolence and social justice. This involves:

  • group gatherings to raise consciousness on various issues related to waging nonviolence
  • study of the religious dimensions of nonviolence in Judaism, Islam, and Christianity
  • ceremonial and community building time

The other half of each resident fellow’s time is spent helping to operate the Stony Point Center (SPC) conference facility which supports the work of CLT. We ask residential fellows to commit to both day to day operations of the conference center and to create a vibrant, justice-oriented multifaith community. We seek individuals who are able to blend their experience and passion as organizers/activists/academics with specific vocational abilities and interests that enhance the spiritual and practical work of providing hospitality for our guests.

Fellows receive room, board, and $75 a week stipend.
