<body> <h1>Colin Bateman</h1> <p>This is the official website of Colin Bateman, the well-known Northern Irish author and screenwriter. Colin Bateman has written 15 novels and 3 childrens' books to date, including Divorcing Jack and Wild about Harry (both subsequently made into films) and Murphy's Law, which has been made into a very successful BBC series starring James Nesbitt. The follow-up to Murphy's Law is entitled Murphy's Revenge and was published in early 2005. The latest title to feature Colin Bateman's most well-known character - the down-at-heel private eye called Dan Starkey - is entitled Belfast Confidential and is to be published by Headline in November 2005. <p>Colin Bateman was born in Newtownards, Northern Ireland in 1962 but grew up in nearby Bangor where he still lives, with his wife and young son. He is currently working on a range of projects, most of which are detailed on this website.
