This video was filmed in October, 2014, at the studio of Steve Hall who lives near Bradford on Avon, in the UK. He was kind enough to give me this bit of instruction and allow filming it, then publishing. You can see his technique which is reminiscent of the style of the late Edward Wesson. Steve has written two books on Wesson and teaches workshops frequently throughout the year. His website is at the end of the video.

Initally not knowing what to expect from the 53-year-old Telecommunications Specialist from Kendal, the audience soon warmed to Steven's hilarious and ininhibited comedy dance performance. Taking inspiration from a video he discovered on YouTube he's hoping to get more recognition for the comedy that he loves, and hopes that an act like his will be popular with the Queen! Following the success of his first Town House Films DVD - 'Watercolour the Wesson Way' - Steve Hall Returns to show you in detail how watercolour master Edward Wesson (1910 - 1983) painted some of his classic views, including Morston church in Norfolk, The Silent Pool and Thames sailing barges at Pin Mill.
Steve takes five original Wessons from his own extensive collection and paints his own pictures of similar themes inspired by the Wesson originals. This DVD is shot in a teaching studio with Steve working mostly from photographs and sketches so you can see every brushstroke in five full demonstrations.

I am delighted that to have teamed up with Town House Films and sincerely hope that you will share with me the delights of painting in watercolour.
Although my childhood years were spent during the austerity period that followed the second world war, I was fortunate to have been born into a very English rural community and to have benefited from being part of extended village community family on the outskirts of Bath.
I drew from an early age, particularly during the winter months when our isolated farmhouse boasted no electricity but a good set of encyclopaedia from which I could copy endless images. Sadly art became relegated way down the list of priorities as teenage years approached and it was not to be for another forty years that I would seriously take up pencil or paintbrush to once more try my hand at watercolour painting.
Most of the intervening years were spent in building and further education where, amongst other subjects, I taught architecture and construction. This experience was to prove invaluable since it laid the foundations for good proportional line drawing and an understanding of three dimensional form. My career in teaching was both enjoyable and rewarding and after working at Mid Essex Technical College, South Kent College and Newport College of Further Education I became an Assistant Principal for Gwent Tertiary College, now Coleg Gwent.
In 1994 I was able to take early retirement and once more escape into the world of watercolour. Fortunately my formative years had instilled in me a love of the English landscape and a desire to capture its ever changing moods and seasons on paper. As a result I returned to my childhood aspirations and in 1996 I started to paint in earnest, followed by my first home courses the following year.
Like all artists I struggled to find my own style and was always buying the latest book or video, the result being that I was failing to recognise the basics of good watercolour and losing myself in the myriad of gimmicks and gismos that were being offered by the commercial art world.
At about the time of the millennium my efforts took a dramatic turn for the better when I first became aware of the work of Edward Wesson . Here was some one who had managed to put aside all the verbal clutter about the medium of watercolour and put down on paper what he observed in as simple and honest fashion as was possible. Sadly Ted Wesson is no longer with us, however he was such a prolific painter and demonstrator that literally thousands of his paintings are still in existence and regularly appear in both galleries and auctions.
I now work full time as a watercolour painter, teacher and writer. I have co authored two publications on the work of Edward Wesson and am a regular writer for the Artist magazine. In addition, I run a yearly programme of courses for painters of all abilities both in the UK and abroad.
My own work has benefited greatly from being aware of both Wesson's philosophy and his working methods. In this DVD I want to share with you that philosophy in the sincere hope that we may make further progress together and benefit from the wisdom of Edward Wesson.
To achieve this I have visited Walberswick, one of Ted Wesson's favourite painting locations and sought out his favourite subjects for you to share.
So join with me and explore all that is good about fresh watercolour. It is to embark on a journey that is unending and at times full of frustration and pitfalls yet, for the determined traveller, one that can be so rewarding.

Britain's Got Talent
Britain's Got Talent (often shortened to BGT) is a British television talent show competition which started in June 2007 and originated from the Got Talent franchise. The show is a Thames production (formerly Talkback Thames) distributed by FremantleMedia and is produced in association with Syco TV. The show is broadcast on ITV and its sister show Britain's Got More Talent is broadcast on ITV2. Anyone of any age with some sort of talent can audition for the show. Acts compete against each other in order to gain the audience support while trying to win the title of "The winner of Britain's Got Talent''. The original judging panel consisted of the show's creator Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan. Kelly Brook was brought in as a fourth judge in series 3, but was axed after one audition site. Morgan did not return for series 5 and Cowell was only present during the live shows, while David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre joined the panel. Alesha Dixon and David Walliams joined the panel in series 6 as replacements for McIntyre and Hasselhoff.

Got Talent
Got Talent is a talent show television format conceived and owned by Simon Cowell's SYCOtv company. A pilot was made in the United Kingdom in 2005, hosted by Paul O'Grady, but after O'Grady's split with ITV, the series was postponed, resulting in America's Got Talent – the first full series of the format.
It has spawned spin-offs in over 58 countries (as of April 2014), in what is now referred to as the Got Talent format, similar to that described by FremantleMedia of the Idol and The X Factor formats. In April 2014, the format was named the world's most successful reality TV format ever by the Guinness World Records.
History
Got Talent was an invention by The X Factor creator Simon Cowell, with comedian and talk show host Paul O'Grady producing a pilot for ITV in 2005 under the provisional title Paul O'Grady's Got Talent. O'Grady left the network after disputes with ITV, resulting in Cowell moving the concept to the United States while he and ITV searched for a new show host.
Due to these issues, the Got Talent franchise ended up debuting first as America's Got Talent on NBC on 21 June 2006, with judges David Hasselhoff, Brandy Norwood, and Piers Morgan. The show's original series was hosted by Regis Philbin. In 2016, the judging panel consisted of Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Melanie Brown, and Simon Cowell, and hosted by Nick Cannon, who has been the presenter since 2009. The grand prize on America's Got Talent is $1 million, and, since season 3, a chance to headline a show on the Las Vegas Strip. America's Got Talent proved extremely successful for NBC, pulling in high ratings in both total viewers and the younger 18-49 demographic. The show's initial success in America is credited with the eventual launch of the British series, and the overall global launch of the Got Talent franchise.

Hall
In architecture, a hall is a relatively large space enclosed by a roof and walls. In the Iron Age, a mead hall was such a simple building and was the residence of a lord and his retainers. Later, rooms were partitioned from it, and the space next to the front door became the entrance hall. Today, the (entrance) hall of a house is the space next to the front door or vestibule leading to the rooms directly and/or indirectly. Where the hall inside the front door of a house is elongated, it may be called a passage, corridor (from Spanish corredor used in El Escorial and 100 years later in Castle Howard) or hallway.
Other meanings
The term hall is often used to designate a British or Irish country house such as a hall house, or specifically a Wealden hall house, and manor houses.
In later medieval Europe, the main room of a castle or manor house was the great hall. In a medieval building, the hall was where the fire was kept. With time, its functions as dormitory, kitchen, parlour and so on were divided off to separate rooms or, in the case of the kitchen, a separate building.

Edward Wesson
Edward Wesson (April 29, 1910– 1983) was an English watercolour artist.
His work is known for its simplicity, boldness and mastery of brushwork. He is remembered by many painters as a very encouraging teacher.
He had one daughter, Elizabeth Wesson.

Plot: Actor Ben Castle is a phony singing cowboy who can not ride, sing, or act, and is afraid of guns and horses and the first one out the door when trouble breaks out. His studio hires attorney Abigail Furnival, to get him out of trouble with a big-time gambler because he can not pay off a gambling debt. And the next thing she knows is that she has married him. The gambler decides to write off the debt when he learns that Abigail is the daughter of an old friend. But the gambler is murdered, and Ben appears to be involved.

Plot: When a local cycle club, invite a couple of new members to join them, little do the club realise, that they will soon be involved in a couple of illegal bookmakers putting the squeeze on the son of one of the Members, a stolen bike, a deserting soldier on the run from the police, and a love triangle, that's bound to lead to trouble. During the late 40's and the early 50's, there seem to be hundreds of these clubs. This film shows a fascinating look at a North Country mill town, with a refreshing absence of traffic jams, yellow lines , traffic wardens, and other things we have become accustomed to seeing on our roads today.

He was kind enough to give me this bit of instruction and allow filming it, then publishing. You can see his technique which is reminiscent of the style of the late Edward Wesson. Although my childhood years were spent during the austerity period that followed the second world war, I was fortunate to have been born into a very English rural community and to have benefited from being part of extended village community family on the outskirts of Bath.
I drew from an early age, particularly during the winter months when our isolated farmhouse boasted no electricity but a good set of encyclopaedia from which I could copy endless images. Sadly art became relegated way down the list of priorities as teenage years approached and it was not to be for another forty years that I would seriously take up pencil or paintbrush to once more try my hand at watercolour painting.
Most of the intervening years were spent in building and further education where, amongst other subjects, I taught architecture and construction. This experience was to prove invaluable since it laid the foundations for good proportional line drawing and an understanding of three dimensional form. My career in teaching was both enjoyable and rewarding and after working at Mid Essex Technical College, South Kent College and Newport College of Further Education I became an Assistant Principal for Gwent Tertiary College, now Coleg Gwent.
In 1994 I was able to take early retirement and once more escape into the world of watercolour. Fortunately my formative years had instilled in me a love of the English landscape and a desire to capture its ever changing moods and seasons on paper. As a result I returned to my childhood aspirations and in 1996 I started to paint in earnest, followed by my first home courses the following year.
Like all artists I struggled to find my own style and was always buying the latest book or video, the result being that I was failing to recognise the basics of good watercolour and losing myself in the myriad of gimmicks and gismos that were being offered by the commercial art world.
At about the time of the millennium my efforts took a dramatic turn for the better when I first became aware of the work of Edward Wesson . Here was some one who had managed to put aside all the verbal clutter about the medium of watercolour and put down on paper what he observed in as simple and honest fashion as was possible. Sadly Ted Wesson is no longer with us, however he was such a prolific painter and demonstrator that literally thousands of his paintings are still in existence and regularly appear in both galleries and auctions.
I now work full time as a watercolour painter, teacher and writer. I have co authored two publications on the work of Edward Wesson and am a regular writer for the Artist magazine. In addition, I run a yearly programme of courses for painters of all abilities both in the UK and abroad.
My own work has benefited greatly from being aware of both Wesson's philosophy and his working methods. In this DVD I want to share with you that philosophy in the sincere hope that we may make further progress together and benefit from the wisdom of Edward Wesson.
To achieve this I have visited Walberswick, one of Ted Wesson's favourite painting locations and sought out his favourite subjects for you to share.
So join with me and explore all that is good about fresh watercolour. It is to embark on a journey that is unending and at times full of frustration and pitfalls yet, for the determined traveller, one that can be so rewarding.

Bert Jansch, 1943 - 2011, was one of the most influential guitarists of his time. Already a legend in folk music circles by the age of 19, he was an intensely private man and notoriously difficult to interview. In a book that describes their time together, Heather Jansch, Bert's former wife, has written an affectionate memoir that reveals something of the man behind the music. In this short film Heather talks to Bruce May, Bert's manager, about how the book came about. The music in this film is Bert's song "Chambertin" recorded live in City Hall, Glasgow, in 1974. At 81 years young, Jim Hall continues to shine a light not only on his artistry, but continues to openly give his musical gift to music fans all over the world. Jim is celebrating this year by touring as well as releasing two new live recordings on the ArtistShare label. “Jim Hall Live at Bourbon Street volumes 3 & 4” was recorded at the famed Bourbon Street club in Toronto, Canada featuring a trio that consisted of Terry Clarke and Don Thompson recorded in 1975.He also has a brand new recording featuring his quartet recorded at Birdland last year with Joey Baron, Greg Osby, and Steve Laspina.
Born James Stanley Hall on December 4, 1930 in Buffalo, New York, Hall grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where he grew up in a a musical family. Jim’s mother gave him a guitar for Christmas at 10 and from there he became instantly enthralled with the instrument. When he was 13 he heard the legendary Charlie Christian on record and inspired him to pursue the guitar professionally.
Jim also played and studied the double bass and piano when he attended the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Upon graduating school he moved to Los Angeles, California where he threw himself in the fast-paced music scene where he joined drummer Chico Hamilton’s quintet.Throughout his 60 years as a musician and educator Jim has played and recorded with the likes of Lee Konitz, Ella Fitzgerald, Bill Evans, Sonny Rollins, Bob Brookmeyer, Ron Carter, Paul Desmond, Pat Metheny, Wayne Shorter, George Shearing, and Joe Lovano just to name a few.
Jim continues to tour and shows no signs of slowing down. Currently he’s about to embark on a summer and fall tour with his new quartet featuring guitarist Julian Lage, drummer Joey Baron, and bassist Scott Colley. Grimes performed tracks from her most recent album, 'Art Angels' in front of over 600 die hard fans who got to hear some of the songs from the album for the first time as well as the hits that she is known for.

JOAN LA BARBARA’s career as a composer/performer/soundartist explores the human voice as a multi-faceted instrument expanding traditional boundaries, creating works for multiple voices, chamber ensembles, music theater, orchestra and interactive technology, developing a unique vocabulary of experimental and extended vocal techniques: multiphonics, circular singing, ululation and glottal clicks that have become her "signature sounds", garnering awards in the U.S. and Europe including the 2008 Letter of Distinction from the American Music Center for her significant contributions to new American music; the 2004 Guggenheim Fellowship in Music Composition, the prestigious DAAD Artist-in-Residency in Berlin and 7 National Endowment for the Arts fellowships: Music Composition, Opera/Music Theatre, Inter-Arts, Recording (2), Solo Recitalist and Visual Arts; ISCM International Jury Award; Akustische International Competition Award; Meet The Composer and ASCAP Awards and numerous commissions for concert, theatre and radioworks.
JON GIBSON is a composer, multi-wind instrumentalist (saxophones, flutes, clarinets) and visual artist who has taken part in numerous landmark musical events over the past three and a half decades, performing in the early works of Steve Reich, Terry Riley, LaMonte Young and Philip Glass, with whom he continues to perform in various configurations, along with a host of other musicians, choreographers and artists including Merce Cunningham, Nancy Topf, Lucinda Childs, JoAnne Akalaitis, Simone Forti, Thomas Buckner, Harold Budd, David Behrman, Elizabetta Vittoni and Moacir Santos. Current projects and performances include collaborations with the Nina Winthrop Dance Company and dancers Elisabetta Vittoni and Hetty King. He is also involved with the work and legacy of Nancy Topf. Gibson recently received a grant from the New York State Council for the Arts with which he composed a music/theater piece about the inventor Nicola Tesla entitled Violet Fire. He has also received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation, New York Foundation for the Arts, the Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust and Meet the Composer. His music can be heard on the New Tone, Point Music, Lovely Music, EarRational Records and Einstein Records labels and he appears on recordings by Glass, Steve Reich, Frederick Rzewski, Arthur Russell, Annea Lockwood, Peter Zummo and Robert Ashley. His visual work, which is closely related to his music, has been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the world and manifests itself in various media, including drawings, videos, books, and prints. PHILL NIBLOCK is a New York-based minimalist composer and multi-media musician and director of Experimental Intermedia, a foundation born in the flames of 1968's barricade-hopping. He has been a maverick presence on the fringes of the avant garde ever since. In the history books Niblock is the forgotten Minimalist. That's as maybe: no one ever said the history books were infallible anyway.
His influence has had more impact on younger composers such as Susan Stenger, Lois V Vierk, David First, and Glenn Branca. He's even worked with Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Lee Renaldo on "Guitar two, for four" which is actually for five guitarists. This is Minimalism in the classic sense of the word, if that makes sense. Niblock constructs big 24-track digitally-processed monolithic microtonal drones. The result is sound without melody or rhythm. Movement is slow, geologically slow. Changes are almost imperceptible, and his music has a tendency of creeping up on you. The vocal pieces are like some of Ligeti's choral works, but a little more phased. And this isn't choral work. "A Y U (as yet untitled)" is sampled from just one voice, the baritone Thomas Buckner. The results are pitch shifted and processed intense drones, one live and one studio edited. Unlike Ligeti, this isn't just for voice or hurdy gurdy. Like Stockhausen's electronic pieces, Musique Concrete, or even Fripp and Eno's No Pussyfooting, the role of the producer/composer in "Hurdy Hurry" and "A Y U" is just as important as the role of the performer. He says: "What I am doing with my music is to produce something without rhythm or melody, by using many microtones that cause movements very, very slowly." Roger Norman Iron Man’s Complete 1061 Race Miles
RENO, NV NOVEMBER 23, 2010 - Roger Norman’s Crystal Bay Casino #8 Trophy Truck finished the 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 third overall and in class on Friday November 19, 2010. “Completing the Baja 1000 is always an amazing experience,” said Roger Norman. “We had a good race, our biggest issue was being able to see as we literally lost lights off the truck and battled very heavy fog.” The team of Roger Norman and Lance Clifford completed the 1061 miles in 19:56:27, a very impressive time averaging 53.24 mph.
The Crystal Bay Casino #8 truck sat up on the dirt mound at the Start of the Baja 1000. Proud to be the first truck off the line, Norman Motorsports had fresh air for the first third of the race until they clipped a rock and took a quick three minutes to change the BFGoodrich tire which allowed Gus Vildosola to pass for the lead. As night fell, they realized that the bright Vision X lights had begun to loosen off the lightbars and they had already lost some. While taking a longer pit to locktite and resecure them, Robbie Gordon passed for second. Lacking their bright lights, they had to slow down off competitive race pace to eliminate the risk of not finishing. When they caught Robbie Gordon a while later, they bumped him enough to lose the only two lights that they had working when the front bumper was pushed up into the hood. It woke Gordon up, and it slowed Norman down. They continued on with safety as the main priority and after clipping another rock and a quick tire change, they maintained their position with BJ Baldwin hunting them the rest of the race to the finish line.
Roger Norman did drive solo for the entire race with Lance Clifford as his co-driver. In an interview after the race, Roger confirmed that it was a good decision. “Yes, with all of the pre-running that we did, we were prepared and then come race day we stayed hydrated to keep our concentration. I am glad that I did it, it completes another item on my list of things to do.” Competing in the Baja 1000 has always been rewarding, being able to finish is excellent, but being on the podium as an overall finisher while iron manning is amazing.
The efforts of running a race as prestigious as the Baja 1000 requires dedication from the whole team. Norman Motorsports was successful with an all volunteer team that has an amazing responsibility and successfully executed pit stops to keep the team on pace. They continued on with safety as the main priority and after clipping another rock and a quick tire change, they maintained their position with BJ Baldwin hunting them the rest of the race to the finish line.
Roger Norman did drive solo for the entire race with Lance Clifford as his co-driver. In an interview after the race, Roger confirmed that it was a good decision. “Yes, with all of the pre-running that we did, we were prepared and then come race day we stayed hydrated to keep our concentration. I am glad that I did it, it completes another item on my list of things to do.” Competing in the Baja 1000 has always been rewarding, being able to finish is excellent, but being on the podium as an overall finisher while iron manning is amazing.
The efforts of running a race as prestigious as the Baja 1000 requires dedication from the whole team. Norman Motorsports was successful with an all volunteer team that has an amazing responsibility and successfully executed pit stops to keep the team on pace. In a book that describes their time together, Heather Jansch, Bert's former wife, has written an affectionate memoir that reveals something of the man behind the music.
In this short film Heather talks to Bruce May, Bert's manager, about how the book came about.
The music in this film is Bert's song "Chambertin" recorded live in City Hall, Glasgow, in 1974. It is notoriously difficult to play, even for Bert (who was widely acknowledged as one of the world's great guitarists), and this is one of the very few complete recordings in existence.

The book itself is an objet d'art, printed on high-grade paper and spiral bound in board covers, comparable with the widely-acclaimed Lal Waterson portrait, 'Teach Me To Be A Summer's Morning.'
'Living with the legend' is as lovely to behold as one could hope for, and the author's writing is both eloquent and gracious. The cover photograph by Hans Feurer shows a smiling Bert and Heather, it is this Bert Jansch - the bashful, unaffected genius who somehow looked effortlessly cool, who is evoked most memorably in this personal memoir.
“I hope his fan’s enjoy it and find it a fitting tribute” says the artist formerly known as Miss Heather Rosemary Sewell. She has exceeded that modest ambition by some considerable distance.

I am delighted that to have teamed up with Town House Films and sincerely hope that you will share with me the delights of painting in watercolour.
Although my childhood years were spent during the austerity period that followed the second world war, I was fortunate to have been born into a very English rural community and to have benefited from being part of extended village community family on the outskirts of Bath.
I drew from an early age, particularly during the winter months when our isolated farmhouse boasted no electricity but a good set of encyclopaedia from which I could copy endless images. Sadly art became relegated way down the list of priorities as teenage years approached and it was not to be for another forty years that I would seriously take up pencil or paintbrush to once more try my hand at watercolour painting.
Most of the intervening years were spent in building and further education where, amongst other subjects, I taught architecture and construction. This experience was to prove invaluable since it laid the foundations for good proportional line drawing and an understanding of three dimensional form. My career in teaching was both enjoyable and rewarding and after working at Mid Essex Technical College, South Kent College and Newport College of Further Education I became an Assistant Principal for Gwent Tertiary College, now Coleg Gwent.
In 1994 I was able to take early retirement and once more escape into the world of watercolour. Fortunately my formative years had instilled in me a love of the English landscape and a desire to capture its ever changing moods and seasons on paper. As a result I returned to my childhood aspirations and in 1996 I started to paint in earnest, followed by my first home courses the following year.
Like all artists I struggled to find my own style and was always buying the latest book or video, the result being that I was failing to recognise the basics of good watercolour and losing myself in the myriad of gimmicks and gismos that were being offered by the commercial art world.
At about the time of the millennium my efforts took a dramatic turn for the better when I first became aware of the work of Edward Wesson . Here was some one who had managed to put aside all the verbal clutter about the medium of watercolour and put down on paper what he observed in as simple and honest fashion as was possible. Sadly Ted Wesson is no longer with us, however he was such a prolific painter and demonstrator that literally thousands of his paintings are still in existence and regularly appear in both galleries and auctions.
I now work full time as a watercolour painter, teacher and writer. I have co authored two publications on the work of Edward Wesson and am a regular writer for the Artist magazine. In addition, I run a yearly programme of courses for painters of all abilities both in the UK and abroad.
My own work has benefited greatly from being aware of both Wesson's philosophy and his working methods. In this DVD I want to share with you that philosophy in the sincere hope that we may make further progress together and benefit from the wisdom of Edward Wesson.
To achieve this I have visited Walberswick, one of Ted Wesson's favourite painting locations and sought out his favourite subjects for you to share.
So join with me and explore all that is good about fresh watercolour. It is to embark on a journey that is unending and at times full of frustration and pitfalls yet, for the determined traveller, one that can be so rewarding.

Steve takes five original Wessons from his own extensive collection and paints his own pictures of similar themes inspired by the Wesson originals. This DVD is shot in a teaching studio with Steve working mostly from photographs and sketches so you can see every brushstroke in five full demonstrations.
This DVD is a must for Wesson fans.

I am delighted that to have teamed up with Town House Films and sincerely hope that you will share with me the delights of painting in watercolour.
Although my childhood years were spent during the austerity period that followed the second world war, I was fortunate to have been born into a very English rural community and to have benefited from being part of extended village community family on the outskirts of Bath.
I drew from an early age, particularly during the winter months when our isolated farmhouse boasted no electricity but a good set of encyclopaedia from which I could copy endless images. Sadly art became relegated way down the list of priorities as teenage years approached and it was not to be for another forty years that I would seriously take up pencil or paintbrush to once more try my hand at watercolour painting.
Most of the intervening years were spent in building and further education where, amongst other subjects, I taught architecture and construction. This experience was to prove invaluable since it laid the foundations for good proportional line drawing and an understanding of three dimensional form. My career in teaching was both enjoyable and rewarding and after working at Mid Essex Technical College, South Kent College and Newport College of Further Education I became an Assistant Principal for Gwent Tertiary College, now Coleg Gwent.
In 1994 I was able to take early retirement and once more escape into the world of watercolour. Fortunately my formative years had instilled in me a love of the English landscape and a desire to capture its ever changing moods and seasons on paper. As a result I returned to my childhood aspirations and in 1996 I started to paint in earnest, followed by my first home courses the following year.
Like all artists I struggled to find my own style and was always buying the latest book or video, the result being that I was failing to recognise the basics of good watercolour and losing myself in the myriad of gimmicks and gismos that were being offered by the commercial art world.
At about the time of the millennium my efforts took a dramatic turn for the better when I first became aware of the work of Edward Wesson . Here was some one who had managed to put aside all the verbal clutter about the medium of watercolour and put down on paper what he observed in as simple and honest fashion as was possible. Sadly Ted Wesson is no longer with us, however he was such a prolific painter and demonstrator that literally thousands of his paintings are still in existence and regularly appear in both galleries and auctions.
I now work full time as a watercolour painter, teacher and writer. I have co authored two publications on the work of Edward Wesson and am a regular writer for the Artist magazine. In addition, I run a yearly programme of courses for painters of all abilities both in the UK and abroad.
My own work has benefited greatly from being aware of both Wesson's philosophy and his working methods. In this DVD I want to share with you that philosophy in the sincere hope that we may make further progress together and benefit from the wisdom of Edward Wesson.
To achieve this I have visited Walberswick, one of Ted Wesson's favourite painting locations and sought out his favourite subjects for you to share.
So join with me and explore all that is good about fresh watercolour. It is to embark on a journey that is unending and at times full of frustration and pitfalls yet, for the determined traveller, one that can be so rewarding.
