Baby on board for the swim in Banna

Mum-to-be Brona Geaney from Tralee and Harley Manson get set to take plunge at Banna beach for the annual Christmas swim on Sunday. ABOUT 500 swimmers entered the water in Fenit on Christmas Day as hundreds of spectators looked on from every available vantage point as youthful octogenarian PJ Costello led the charge to the sea for his 60th consecutive Christmas Day swim.

Raffle of Taoiseach's 'Ring' bike raises € 7.4k for Killarney centre

A RAFFLE with the unique top prize of the bike used by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny has raised a whopping €7462.43 for a Killarney centre for children with disabilities. The highspec Trek carbon bike was used by Mr Kenny to pedal his way around the Ring of Kerry for the annual Charity Cycle. Donated by Castlebar shop owner, Michael Kilcourse, and valued at over €2,000 the bike has found a new home with raffle winner, James A Murphy of Milltown.

Tralee's Johnny Kelliher trains winner of prestigious event DRESDEN Call (Bexhill Eoin / Call Biddy) captured the prestigious Kingdom Cup with a masterclass display at Ballybeggan Park yesterday ( Tuesday). The ante-post favourite was quickly into his stride when getting the better of Toast Master by a length in the opening round.
