TNT has canceled Memphis Beat, the cop drama starring Jason Lee, Deadline.com reports.

Beat, which centers on an easygoing, but fiercely dedicated detective in the south, pulled in just 4.05 million viewers in its Season 2 finale, the second-highest watched episode next to the series premiere, which drew 4.3 million viewers.

Jason Lee cast as Maya Rudolph's love interest on Up All Night

"TNT has decided not to pick up a third season of Memphis Beat," a network spokesperson told the site. "The network thanks everyone involved in the production of Memphis Beat for their work on the series, including the great cast and crew. TNT wishes everyone the best."

As previously announced, the network also axed Men of a Certain Age and HawthoRNe. TNT's other series — Falling Skies, Franklin & Bash, Leverage and Rizzoli & Isles — have all been renewed.

Memphis Beat has been my favorite show, ever since it premiered. I can't believe you, TNT. It has such a cool demeaner. I even watch the entro every time, even thought I always watch it via DVR, just because it is so cool. I just feel good during the whole show. The music, the beat and the banter between the characters if fantastic. You keep the garbage and get rid of a first rate show like this. What were you thinking? It will be a great loss.

Memphis Beat is soo much better than the lame series Falling Skies. After watching only three episodes of Falling S&^T I stopped even DVRing it because of the stupid plot, writing and acting. Good show get axed while crap sticks.

I really enjoyed this show! Why is it that every show that I like and is different is cancelled? Will another network be smart and pick this up?

What are those Morons at TNT thinking? Clearly they are Not Thinking. Memphis Beat was one of less than a dozen shows on TV that was actually worth watching. All the networks keep polluting the air waves with their stupid "reality" shows that just get more stupid every season. Why don't they cancel that rediculous Falling Skies or the idiotic Franklin and Bash?
Now, the only shows left to watch on that network will be Leverage and Rizzoli & Isles. I wonder how long it will be before some network "genius" cancels them for a reality show on peeling potatoes or carving pumpkins.

I'm getting so tired of watching some good shows. I really enjoyed Memphis Beat and thought Jason Lee did a very good job, in fact I like him better in a drama show over comedy any day of the week.

There is so much trash on TV and you cancel a good show like Memphis Beat. It's so aggravating.

I loved Memphis Beat. Very sad that it will not be coming back. Could they at least make a soundtrack of the songs?? I won't hold my breath.
