In
decision X/10, COP-10 decided that the fifth national reports are due by
31 March 2014 and that reports should focus on implementation of the
2011-2020 Strategic Plan for Biodiversity and progress towards the
Aichi Biodiversity Targets.
Further to
Notification 2011-015 sent to CBD Primary National Focal Points on 21 January 2011, Parties are encouraged to initiate work as early as possible on both the updating of their
national biodiversity strategies and action plans and the preparation of the fifth national report.
Funding is
available from the Global Environment Facility to support eligible countries in the development and updating of their national biodiversity strategies and action plans and the preparation of the fifth national report.
