Long Range Hunting. Whats the Best Caliber? Choosing the perfect caliber of rifle may seem challenging to some. There are so many options out there and each specific caliber has its list of pros and cons. Much of this comes down to personal preference and what kind of game you are hunting. We decided to ask the guys at RedRock Precision what their personal favorite calibers are for long range hunting. Todd from Redrock talks about two of his personal favorites and gives us some insight into why he likes each caliber. There are many opinions out there, feel free to comment and add what your personal favorite is. There is really no right or wrong answer but if you were looking for more insight this may help you make the decision a little easier.
In this multi-part series we will discuss how to get started in long range shooting. We'll talk about topics like how to pick the rifle, the right caliber, the right scope, etc. We'll also delve into reading the wind, estimating range, reloading and other more advanced topics. Stay tuned! I would like to thank Evan Green from Griffin Armament and Adam Pini from ADM for helping out with this new series. The summer vacation is over and hunting season is just around the corner. As usual, my shooting skill has detoriated and I need to bring it up to scratch. I know the rifle shoots, so simply by following the bullet impacts and correcting the errors they indicate, my shooting is rapidly improved.

Another long range shooting video! This footage was filmed over a couple of nice mornings out on the hill. I know some shooters have reservations on the ethics of long range shooting on live quarry but please bare in mind these shots are taken with a precision custom rifle with handloaded ammunition on calm days with little wind. Elevation is easy to adjust for with good ballistic info however wind can be very variable . Although i shoot in all weathers, I refrain from taking extreme long range shots on live quarry unless I am confident of a hit. Enjoy the video, thanks for watching - please subscribe!
Long range shooters Ulf Lindroth and Thomas Haugland travel to the Arctic Circle to perform a serious field test combining the new Blaser R8 in 338 Lapua Magnum and the new Zeiss Victory V8 4,8-35x60. Focusing less on technical details and more on practical limits, they shoot the system in the fjords and mountains of northern Norway. Initially they trim the system to deliver accuracy in the field, and then using it for practical shooting. This is how it went.
