Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. is set to increase its efficiency in Indonesia next year by merging with PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM).
The move will see YIMM handle Yamaha’s production, promotion and marketing activities.
YIMM executive vice president Dyonisius Beti cited four reasons behind the merger.
The first one, he said, was to raise efficiency, productivity and business competition.
The second was to create synergy between the production, marketing, financial and human resources units to improve business performance, he said.
The third reason, Dyonisius said, was to improve the management at all levels within the company.
“[We aim] to create a healthy business environment and make the most of the roles and functions of all Yamaha Group management for a more competitive future,” he said on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that he hoped the merger could help Yamaha live up to its slogan “Semakin di depan” (increasingly ahead) and create a better future for the firm. (awd)
