The fabulous sound of pure rock of the 60's with that great band THEM with Van Morrison up front. Who can forget that other track GLORIA. Great times Great memories enjoy. Cheers Oz Here's a bit on Van and THEM This is a discography for Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. George Ivan Morrison OBE (generally known as Van Morrison) (born 31 August 1945) is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who has been a professional musician since the late 1950s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003. His travels have led him down pathways where he's explored soul, jazz, blues, rhythm & blues, rock and roll, Celtic folk, pop balladry, and more, forging a distintive amalgam that has Morrison's passionate self-expression at its core. With a minimum of hype or fanfare, working with a craftsman's discipline and an artist-mystic's creativity, Morrison has steadily amassed one of the great bodies of recorded work in the 20th century.[1] Morrison made his first recording playing saxophone on "Boozoo Hully Gully" with the International Monarchs in 1962.[2] His first recording session as lead singer/songwriter with Them was produced by Dick Rowe at Decca's studio. "Don't Start Crying Now" was the first single released and the garage rock classic, "Gloria" was also recorded at this session.[3] "Baby, Please Don't Go" (recorded October 1964) was released November 1964 with "Gloria" as the B ...

Eric Bogle - The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
Eric Bogle - The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
****Note added 25 April 2010: When I was asked to create this presentation for a Remembrance Day assembly, I didn't know how I would show an "anti-war" song at an event that is supposed to honour our veterans. At the same time, war and military conflict was such a distant concept for our students, I wanted to some how make history relevant to them, let alone an "Australian" song that most of the our middle school students have never heard. The more I listened to Bogle's words, the more I realized that this song was about more than a moment in history. It's about how history repeats itself and the great sacrifices that are made during war and how futile it all is if we fail to learn from our mistakes. Making the transition from B/W to full colour to coincide with Bogle's words "We started all over again," I wanted to show how war is part of our past, present and (unfortunately) future. Great sacrifices have been made because of war. Bogle asks "What are they marching for?" I say they are marching to honour those sacrifices. If any veteran is offended by this video, I truly do apologize. ************************* April 25 - ANZAC Day November 11 - Remembrance Day "Waltzing Matilda" is a very famous Australian folk song and a "Matilda" was the name given to the pack that Australian farm workers carried on their backs. Little Willy Willy won't Willy won't Willy won't little Willy Willy won't Willy won't Willy won't. Sweet's origins go back to 1965, with UK soul band "Wainwright's Gentlemen", which included drummer Mick Tucker and vocalist Ian Gillan. The group were limited to small UK clubs playing a mixture of R&B and psychedelia. Gillan quit in May 1965 to join Episode Six, and, later, Deep Purple. Gillan's eventual replacement was vocalist Brian Connolly. Tucker and Connolly remained with Wainwright's Gentlemen until early 1968. In January 1968, Brian Connolly and Mick Tucker left Wainwright's Gentlemen to form another band, calling themselves The Sweetshop. They recruited a bass guitarist/lead vocalist named Steve Priest from a local band called 'The ...

Rammstein Sonne (cover) - Children Medieval Band
Rammstein Sonne (cover) - Children Medieval Band
This video is being posted on the official Rammstein site: www.rammstein.com We'd like to thank most commentators; kids are happy that their work is rewarded with appreciation. There are other commentators, some simply nasty or others honestly concerned, which we'd like to answer here. 1. No! the kids are not being pushed or forced to play. While we consider that music should be part of their education, the priority is that they should enjoy their childhood. That is why they practice only 1 hr daily. They are also home-schooled and have a lot of time to study what, when and how they want it. And also freedom to play. The results have been way beyond expectations. 2. We don't like stardom, don't want kids to be stars and all that circus. They are not very technical (just because are not being forced to practice a lot), but their performances are still pretty good, and particularly Sonne is quite outstanding. Their charm can be explained by their freedom of expression. 3. Why they don't look very happy and smiling? One explanation is that they are tense trying the recording to come out good. Also this type of music is not entertainment. They don't like 'shake-butt' music. They listen to music a lot and they choose. Stefan made a list with 200 favorite songs, starting with Little Richard in the 50's and ending with Rammstein. 4. Is Rammstein a good choice for children? Some of their videos we don't like, some of the lyrics also, but overall their music, with that unique ...

The Band - The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down (1969) w/Lyrics [720p HD] *For Levon, With Love!*
[Video #27] from www.youtube.com the address for MetalGuruMessiah's Musical Paint Box! Check out my other videos! The 27th video in my series is a live version of The Band's song "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" which was originally released on their 1969 debut album, The Band. The version in the video is actually from The Last Waltz concert from 1976. I originally worked the video to the original version, but changed to the live one later on and neglected to change the album art in the opening and closing credits to reflect that change (it would be immediately corrected were it not for certain hassles involved with re-uploading). I like both versions of the song equally well, but the applause in the live version seemed to add another dimension to the images and as a bonus the live version was a bit longer allowing for more images. Levon Helms vocals are absolutely perfect....truly one of the greatest folk/rock singers of all time. I've always been a huge fan of The Band, in great part to Levon's extraordinary talent and contributions. UPDATE 04/18/12....Levon is very sick and is in the final stages of his battle with cancer. Having just recently lost my own father in the same way, I'm wishing Levon a peaceful exit from his tired physical vessel to a higher state of enlightenment and being. Levon has shined brightly for so many years and i'm going to miss him! Thanks for the happiness you brought into mine, and so many other's lives.......soon you will shine even ...

Stalingrado / Stalingrad / parte 1 de 14 (idioma ingles, subtitulos en español)
Stalingrado / Stalingrad / parte 1 de 14 (idioma ingles, subtitulos en español)
The film begins with a group of German assault engineers enjoying leave in Italy after returning from combat deployment in North Africa. An awards ceremony is announced by a band playing the song supposed to call soldiers to attention. Some soldiers are late from having to carry "Lupo", the Lieutenant wounded in North Africa, to the ceremony. The three main characters are introduced at the awards ceremony: Leutnant von Witzland, the inexperienced and idealistic platoon leader; Unteroffizier "Rollo" Rohleder, who is refused his decoration when he arrives on parade with an unbuttoned tunic collar, and Obergefreiter Fritz "Fritzi" Reiser, whose tendency to direct talk is made evident. Although this film contradicts what most people think of Nazi soldiers, Rollo fits this stereotype perfectly well- A fanatical, die-hard believer who is willing to fight to the death and is hungry for medals. As the parade ends, the main officer in charge gives a speech, telling them that they are the best, and never to forget that. The group is dismissed and advised their unit has been ordered to the Eastern Front... The train passes through the small Italian coastal town, where the soldiers wave to the people, and Fritz waves to "Viola", his Italian girlfriend. As it passes into the tunnel, the scene changes to the train being far in Russia, where the men are playing cards, talking, relaxing, and one is even eating while shaving. Leutnant Von Witland writes to "Clara", his wife. As the train ...
