Amazonia Reforestation is a group of tropical tree plantations located in the Orinoco River basin of Vichada, Colombia. We plant tropical trees for timber, for carbon sequestration, for expanded wildlife habitat and for profit. Most of what we do is based on a 10 year cycle. Many of the tree species we plant are fast growing, like Acacia mangium, Eucalyptus pellita, Pinus caribaea, Azadirachta indica, Acosmium nitens and more. This allows our joint venture partners to buy trees and to profit from their sale at harvest time - in just 10 years. It also means that our tropical trees are great at carbon sequestration, scientifically proven to be most effective during the first 10 years of their lives. Being a green investor makes a lot of sense, because it is extremely profitable, good for the planet, important to endangered wildlife, and important to those who come after us. Globally, people are only planting 10% of the total number of trees being logged worldwide every year. How Can I Help?

We wholesale trees in groups of 10 or more. Every purchase is a 10 year cycle, from tree seedlings in the nursery and soil preparation to transplanting and fertilization in the tree farm, through maintenance and care up to and including harvest. Our forest engineers keep a constant eye on every tree. We operate using good forest management techniques, insuring healthy trees and quality wood, with minimal losses to fire, insects or disease. When we harvest new trees are planted right away, because we make good use of the carbon sequestered and the nitrogen fixed in the soil from previous tree planting. We share profits with those who make a green investment with us, with a portion of our own profits being used to expand our natural reserve, the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza, which is partnered with the United Nations 2010 International Year of Biodiveristy and the 2011 International Year of Forests.
