Congrats to PequenoPicadillo (AKA Amy Curry)

Just One Taco

Remember these?

What are you doing this Saturday night? Well forget about it. Instead of boozing it up with old college roommates or sitting at home dreading the impending arrival of Monday morning, you should head out to Taste of Dallas and check out PequenoPicadillo/Amy Curry showing off her culinary skills a la Damn Good BBQ Chicken Tacos. Amy sent in her recipe a couple of months ago to be considered for the Dallas Observer’s Blue Ribbon Recipe Contest, and she won second place! Check out the deets here.

Good luck to Amy this Saturday, and hope to see you all out there!

Where did we go?

Barbacoa Pastor Tacos

Don't worry, we haven't even come close to giving up on tacos.

You may have noticed that I’ve been a little absent the past few weeks on Taco Sense, but don’t worry, I didn’t die from food poisoning or elope with a box of pastor tacos (even though, given the opportunity, I most definitely would). Thank you for all your emails and love letters—I am alive and well! Sometimes real life gets in the way of online life, or as some of you may understand better, work gets in the way of play.

That said, Taco Sense is coming back with a vengeance next week, and I don’t mean anything along the lines of Montezuma’s Revenge. I’m talking about the reviews you love, or at least love to hate, making their way back to the internets, in lieu of just taking up residence in our heads. So watch the Facebook, the Twitter, the site and your ass. We’re going to be all up in your business again very soon.

Hooray For Taco Recipes!

Pork Shoulder Tacos

Amazing pork shoulder tacos

Having friends that can cook is just about the best thing ever, second only to a really great taco. Luckily, one of my friends happens to be Sandi from Simply Sandi, one of the internet’s most fabulous bloggers/food reviewers/recipe sharers. Thanks to her wonderful cooking skills and awesome recipe ideas, I was at the happy end of a plate full of pork tacos that any logical person would happily sell their first born to taste. Long story short, these tacos are definitely not to be missed, and hopefully Sandi will soon be adding the recipe for them to her site. Who knows, she may even be kind enough to let Taco Sense post it as well.

We’ll keep you updated, but meanwhile, check out Sandi’s site and follow her on Facebook. You won’t regret it.
