    Video: The Cast of ‘Pan Am’ Tells Us the Truth About Those Vintage Costumes

    We've been happily onboard "Pan Am," ABC's high-flying period drama, since its debut this fall; we love its mix of Jet Age romanticism, espionage drama, and swinging '60s style. And now the series is getting an infusion of vampire blood: "Twilight" star Ashley Greene kicks off a three-episode arc this week, playing a possible love interest for Ted. (Just watch your neck around her, buddy.)

    Recently, we got a chance to visit the Brooklyn set of "Pan Am" and chat up cast members Christina Ricci (Maggie), Mike Vogel (Dean), Margot Robbie (Laura), Michael Mosley (Ted), and Karine Vanasse (Colette). They talked about what initially drew them to the project, why the 1960s are still so fascinating, and how it feels squeezing into those all-too-authentic vintage costumes. (Yes, the actresses really do have to wear girdles. But they swear they don't mind!)

      I love this show. I worked for Pan Am back in the late 50s and early 60s. I don't think anyone believed me about them checking for a girdle, so I get a giggle every time they slap her butt to make sure she has one on. It wasn't really for the belly, it was because we wore three inch heels with those uniforms, and they told us to wear the girdles so we would not have back problems later in life. It worked. I am now 73, and still now back problems. They really got a lot right, and it is fun for me to watch. Lots of old memories.

      If this is a good show it will eventually be cancelled.That's one of the reasons I don't watch TV anymore. A show is good and you like it, but not enough other people watch it and they pull it off the air, no matter the quality

      Dude, this was on ABC, a channel that always as crappy shows, like Lost. That show was good at first, but then the storyline got so freakin stupid I stopped watching: Oh no! We've crashed on an island! We have to find a source of water! Oh look! There are other people on this island! Help! They're Nucking Futz! Yayz! We've been rescued! Now, for some weird reason...we have to go back on the island becuz we we're destined to die there. That sounds like a group of high school students that have ADHD wrote it while doing meth.

      Very artistic, good cinematography, a little hokey at times, overdone occasionally, but still a #$%$ good show. I'm not sure how long the general viewing public will tune in -- 2 to 3 years max. Too bad.
