Roadfood's Jane and Michael Stern visit Louis' Lunch in New Haven, Connecticut, reputed "Home of the Hamburger," in this SeriousEats.com video.
Louis' Lunch has been in business since 1895 and is home to America's first hamburg sandwich. They grind their meat fresh daily and use old fashioned vertical gas broilers to cook their hamburgers. Their bread toaster is from the 1920's. Their hamburgers are so tasty that they only allow cheese, onions and tomatoes on the hamburger sandwich. Don't ask for ketchup!
