Rick Barry - The Miami Greyhound
Richard (Rick) Francis Dennis Barry III (born March 28, 1944, in Elizabeth, New Jersey) is a retired American professional basketball player. Barry was an All-Star forward for the Golden State (formerly San Francisco) Warriors and for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and for the New York Nets of the American Basketball Association (ABA) from 1965-1980. Named one of the 50 Greatest Players in history by the NBA in 1996, Barry is the only player to lead the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), ABA and NBA in scoring for an individual season. Nicknamed the "Miami Greyhound" by longtime San Francisco-area broadcaster Bill King because of his slender physical build and remarkable quickness and instincts, the 6'7" Barry won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award after averaging 25.7 points and 10.6 rebounds per game in the 1965-66 season. The following year, he won the NBA All-Star Game MVP award with a 38-point outburst and led the NBA in scoring with a 35.6 point per game average — which still ranks as the eighth- highest output in league annals. Teamed with star center Nate Thurmond in San Francisco, Barry helped take the Warriors to the 1967 NBA Finals, which they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in six games. Including a 55-point outburst in Game 3, Barry averaged 40.8 points per game in the series, an NBA Finals record that stood for three decades. Barry was traded to the Houston Rockets in return for John Lucas. Now in the twilight of ...

1976 ABA All-Star Game
In the 1976 ABA All Star Game, the league abandoned the usual East vs. West format it used from the 1967-68 season onward and instead had the league's first place team at the All Star break face off against a team of ABA All Stars. At the All Star break the Denver Nuggets were in first place, which was convenient as the Nuggets had also been selected to host the game in McNichols Arena. Pre-game entertainment was provided by Glen Campbell and Charlie Rich. Halftime of the All Star Game saw the first-ever Slam Dunk Contest, which was won by Julius Erving of the New York Nets (who took off from the free throw line for his dunk) over David Thompson of the Denver Nuggets, Artis Gilmore of the Kentucky Colonels, George Gervin of the San Antonio Spurs and Larry Kenon of the Spurs. The NBA later adopted the Slam Dunk Contest as part of its All Star Game starting in 1984 (also hosted by the Denver Nuggets). This was the final ABA All Star Game, due to the ABA-NBA merger in June 1976. (SUBSCRIBE)

Jason Williams Dunk Mix HD
My Channel www.youtube.com Facebook www.facebook.com A slam dunk is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both hands over the rim.[1] This is considered a normal field goal attempt; if successful it is worth two points. The term "slam dunk" was coined by Los Angeles Lakers announcer Chick Hearn.[2] Prior to that, it was known as a dunk shot.[1] The slam dunk is one of the highest percentage shots one can attempt in basketball as well as one of the most crowd-pleasing plays. Slam dunks are also performed as entertainment outside of the game, especially during slam dunk contests. Perhaps the most popular such contest is the NBA Slam Dunk Contest held during the annual NBA All-Star Weekend. The first slam dunk contest was held during an American Basketball Association All Star Game. Dunking was banned in the NCAA from 1967 to 1976. Many people have attributed this to the dominance of the then-college phenomenon Lew Alcindor (now known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) upon his entry into the NCAA. Subsequently, the no-dunking rule is sometimes referred to as the "Lew Alcindor rule."[3][4] The phrase "slam dunk" has since entered popular usage, meaning a "sure thing" -- an action with a guaranteed outcome.

Nate Archibald - Tiny Archibald
Nathaniel "Tiny" Archibald (born September 2, 1948, New York City) is a former American professional basketball player. He is 6' 1" (1.85 m). Archibald was a penetrator supreme, a pinpoint passer and an outside shooter with great range. His quickness and swooping passes made him difficult to guard in the open court, and he was a potent triple threat with his penetration, passing and shooting. He had a stellar 13-year career in the NBA, most notably with the Kansas City Kings and Boston Celtics. Archibald was selected in the second round of the 1970 NBA Draft by the Cincinnati Royals. In 1973 Archibald led the NBA in scoring and assists, becoming the first and so far only player ever to win the titles in both categories in the same season (it should be noted, however, that in the 1967-68 season, Oscar Robertson led the NBA in both scoring average and assists per game but did not win the official titles because they were based on totals rather than averages at the time). His scoring average of 34.0 points per game was, at the time, an NBA record for a guard. His 910 assists that season (11.4 assists per game) was also an NBA record at the time, breaking Guy Rodgers' mark of 908. For his greatness, he was named the Sporting News NBA MVP that season. Archibald won his first and only NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in the 1980-81 season alongside young NBA star Larry Bird. Archibald was an All-NBA First Team selection three times (1973, 1975, 1976) and an All-NBA ...

Pam Grier1999 Interview
Pamela Suzette "Pam" Grier (born May 26, 1949) is an American actress. She became famous in the early 1970s, after starring in a string of moderately successful women in prison and blaxploitation films such as 1974's Foxy Brown. Her career was revitalized in 1997 after her appearance in Quentin Tarantino's film Jackie Brown. She received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. Grier was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the daughter of Gwendolyn Sylvia (née Samuels), a homemaker and nurse, and Clarence Ransom Grier,Jr., who worked as a mechanic and Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force. She has one sister and one brother. At age 6, Grier was raped by two boys when she was left unattended at her aunt's house. "It took so long to deal with the pain of that", she says, "You try to deal with it, but you never really get over it", she adds. "And not just me; my family endured so much guilt and anger that something like that happened to me." Because of her father's military career, her family moved frequently during her childhood, to various places such as England, and eventually settled in Denver, Colorado, where she attended East High School. While in Denver, Colorado she appeared in a number of stage productions, and participated in beauty contests to raise money for college tuition toward Metropolitan State College. Contrary to previous reports, she states that she is not the cousin of National Football League great Roosevelt Grier or to National Hockey ...
