Hard to decide whether it's a large village or a small town, but it has 3
pubs, 2 hotels, 3 churches, a Priory, two second-hand bookshops and a Country
Park: enough for a relaxing break from Brum. Also within easy reach of
Cambridge, with which it has a connection: in the 14th century Elizabeth de
Burgh, Lady of Clare, refounded what was to become Clare College, Cambridge.
