The Ten Best Batman: The Animated Series Episodes Ever

Today at ComicsAlliance, I am stirring things up with my definitive, comprehensive, unarguable you’re-wrong-I’m-right list of The Ten Best Batman: The Animated Series episodes, which of course took about five times longer to write than I thought. Who could have ever predicted that I would have more opinions than the average person about Batman and Batman related matters? If only there was some record we could have looked at. If only. If only.

Anyway, enjoy the list. It was tough to narrow down the picks — I ended up shuffling around some classics in order to get it all down to ten — but I stand by ‘em. And just remember, if you have suggestions on episodes I may have forgotten, or reasons why I’m wrong, well… Take it away, Dwayne:

Funkywatch: October’s Most Depressing and Mystifying Funky Winkerbean Strips

It’s that time again: Today at ComicsAlliance, I have once again run down a month’s worth of depressing Funky Winkerbean strips, which go right off the deep end into inexplicable territory with appearances by Ben Reilly (the short-lived clone of Spider-Man) and Rembrandt (the Dutch painter). It’s… it’s a weird one, folks. I’m not gonna lie.

And just so you know, I had to read these strips all at once.

War Rocket Ajax #20: Live From the Black Lagoon with Benito Cereno

This week on War Rocket Ajax, it’s the WRA Halloween Special with our pal, Benito Cereno! We meant to talk about comics, but instead we settle for each giving our five essential Halloween horror movies, so if you want some last minute cinematic treats, start listening…. now.

Plus, the usual shenanigans! Enjoy, and Happy Halloween!

Ice Skating Uphill: Blade (1998), Part Two

It’s Halloween, and since I’m banking on the idea that people are excited for action stories about vampires, I hope you enjoy the second half of ComicsAlliance’s review of Blade, featuring me and David Uzumeri plowing through Marvel’s first big cinematic success. I take the script to task for not being able to make up its mind on what this whole vampire thing is about, but all is forgiven in a single amazing line.

Dracula the Unconquered Is Here!

Dracula the Unconquered is here! As promised, the first issue of the new ongoing digital comic book series by me, Steve Downer and Josh Krach is now available for download for one thin American dollar!

The first issue sets the stage for the entire series, introducing my versions of Dracula and Varney as well as Thalia, Drac’s new teenage girl sidekick, plus the driving conflict of the series and a couple of key elements about the world in which they live. Hopefully, I’ve managed to do all that and tell an entertaining adventure story. You can find out more at the link above, including a six-page preview and links to plenty of interviews where I yammer on about what the comic is supposed to be all about, so head on over and check it out! Happy Halloween, everyone!

It’s the first 25% of the book, featuring story by me, art by Steve Downer and lettering by Josh Krach, and its got one of the best pages I’ve ever written. So, if you like it and you want to get 18 more pages of blood-drinking, monster-fighting, spell-casting action, come back on Monday to download the entire issue for one thin dollar!

10 Amazingly Awful Retro Halloween Costumes

Today at ComicsAlliance, our Spooktoberfest Celebrations continue with a look back at the awful Halloween costumes of the past! I somehow managed to “forget” to quote The Simpsons for the entire article, but I’m sure one of you will be able to help me out there!
