The following is our monthly review of xenophobic and radical nationalist activity in Russia, and any response by the government, for the month of November 2011. The overview is prepared based on Sova Center’s daily monitoring activities.

10.11.2011 - 00:15On September 30, the Savyolovsky District Court in Moscow ruled in its case against neo-Nazi Anton Mukhachev, who is known by the nom de guerre "Fly." He stood accused of the formation of an extremist society (Part 1 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code) and fraud (Parts 3 and 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). The trial was held in a closed session, an increasingly common occurrence in higher-profile trials of neo-Nazis in Russia.

06.05.2011On October 15, 2009, UN Human Rights Committee examined the sixth periodic report of the Russian Federation on measures taken to implement the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. We publish the briefing points of the SOVA Center for Information and Analysis.
16.10.2009 The SOVA Center for Information and Analysis took part in the 2009 OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting in Warsaw. 30.09.2009On May 25-26, 2009, in Brussels, the SOVA Center, as a part of a group of Russian human rights NGOs, participated in the EU/Russian Federation human rights consultations. We publish the talking points of the SOVA Center representative.
