Blog tips!

Annaleena wrote a post about their latest project in the styling class lead by Lotta Agaton that she and some other very talented ladies are attending. One of the pictures she showed caught my eye, and it was styled by Ica Carlsson, who just started her own blog. It looks very promising, have a look here.

Saturday Sweets

I've had a busy couple of weeks, thereby the lack of updates over here... But yesterday I got some new motivation to post here, as I discovered that my blog was chosen for a list of the 20 best design blogs in UK magazine The Telegraph! I'm very good company, so check it out!

And as usual on Saturdays, here you go, a small candy bag of nice still lifes!

Ikea styles my dreams

I just got these two pictures from Ikea Livet Hemma in my inbox, and liked them so much I couldn't resist posting them here! This is exactly how I would like my home to look, with the big windows, tiled walls and interesting displays including cacti and books in neutral colours. I can't spot many Ikea pieces in these shots, can you?

A raw chicken in a warehouse? But of course!

I just love the raw industrial look in these photos, styled by Helene Kofoed Sørensen and shot by Diana Lovring. The mix of soft fabrics and hard concrete is wonderful, and then the very unexpected twist of putting a raw chicken in middle of the picture? Fantastic!

Stylist Hilary Robertson

Great work by interior stylist Hilary Robertson! I'm especially liking the moody grey hues, the light wood and the nice use of books.

Artist Tenka Gammelgaard

Sorry for being such a bad blogger this week. I've been working on other stuff. Like getting my house ready for a photoshoot and interview with Korean writer/stylist Juhee C, who is making a book on Scandinavian style.

Today I'd like to show you the studio of Danish artist Tenka Gammelgaard. It's all black and white and stripes, and I love it! I've seen her home and studio before, but I was reminded today by this post on the Mackapär blog.

Candy factory

Today I'm loving these photos of a candy work shop, by photographer Seth Smoot.

Copenhagen loft

I found this wonderful 140 m2 loft apartment in Danish Femina. It's located in Copenhagen and the owner is Rikke Rasmussen, co-owner of the Moshi Moshi Mind webshop. I like the use of textiles and sheep skins to soften the minimalistic look.

Stylist Joanna Lavén

Yes, I'm still here. I've been working hard behind the scenes this week on a Christmas calendar for the blog, with great giveaways from some wonderful sponsors. I think you are going to like it...

Below are some pictures that caught my eye from the portfolio of Swedish prop stylist Joanna Lavén. I'm really into worn things at the moment, but not in a "shabby chic" way, more in a dirty, wrinkly and broken way. Wrinkled brown paper bags are my favourite props right now!

Iris Hantverk catalogue

Iris Hantverk is a Swedish organisation that has been employing blind and sight impaired persons to make high quality household items since 1903. Perhaps some of you have heard of them or at least seen their brushes or other products? I personally think they are wonderful. And after seeing their new catalogue, I like them even more! It's styled by Cia Wedin, shot by Anna Kern and designed by Anna Larsson.

Anyway, the Swedish government has decided to discontinue their benefits towards Iris Hantverk, so now they have to make it on their own. I'd be really sad to see them go, so please, if you can, show your support by buying something from Iris Hantverk. They have two stores in Stockholm, one in Kungsgatan 55, and one in Västerlånggatan 24. If you don't live in Stockholm they have lots of retailers abroad. They are planning a webshop, but until then you can find some of their products online for example here.

Merci by AnoukB

Just taking a break from my magazine job to show you some fantastic styling by AnoukB, shot by Marjon Hoogervorst, inspired by their trip to Paris this summer.

Smallable FW11

French webshop Smallable, focused on kids fashion and decor, is one of my longtime sponsors here and I think they are worth some extra attention. Right now the store is full of stylish new products from the Autumn/Winter collections of brands like Stella McCartney, Finger in the Nose, Isabel Marant and Mini Rodini. I made a little autumn moodboard of my favorite products, but for some real inspiration you should check out their online magazine!

The Straw Hat Factory

Yesterday was the big reveal of a new apartment project here in Stockholm. An old straw hat factory is being rebuilt and carefully renovated to become luxurious city apartments. Below are some 3D sketches. Looks promising, right?
