As presidents go Ron Paul would be great. The big problem we have is the congress. We must, not should must, change the congress. Without a citizen house and a senate that has been installed after the repeal of the 17 amendment we will never ever, do you understand "ever" get this country back on track. I am like Jack Franklin, though I was not old enough to vote, I supported Barry Goldwater. The man was right is so many ways and was a physical conservative and a life loving Libertarian. This country would have been in a much better place, oh well. Today we face a huge problem of a divided country and I do not see anyone who can unite it....even Dr. Paul. So what do we do? I believe the America I grew up loving is gone, gone forever but we can rebuild it. I know many believe another civil war is looming but come on, that was settled, lives were given to settle that. I am 68 and have enjoyed the very best of America. Our country is now run by politicans who only want to be re-elected or turn us into a socialist nation. Born and ralsed in Texas, I am thankful for those that fought and died for our liberty and freedom. I was a member of the Democratic Party while attending UT in Austin. A fellow named Barry Goldwater came on the election trail and spoke words of simple truth My first vote was for Goldwater. Since then I have tried to sort out the need to help my fellow citizen and to remember that our constitution placed limits on government to protect us. Now we have very few statesmen (those of you younger than 50 may not know of whom I speak). If some don't step now. Our country is doomed (as is the rest of the world) . If you go to any politicns rally, try to ask the question, "are you a politican or are you a statesman?" Remember this, a politican choose this as a career, a statesmen choose it as an opportunity to serve his country. God, please send us some statesmen (or stateswomen).
