Kelly Watson didn’t need to venture far from home to vote for Ron Paul at The National Federation of Republican Assemblies Straw Poll last weekend. The Ankeny resident made the short trip to Des Moines’ Polk County Convention Complex in plenty of time to meet the man who delivered him into this world: Dr. Ron Paul, himself.

Besides his obvious link to the candidate, Watson says he has supported Dr. Paul all his life, but “especially this election cycle feels different, because of what’s at stake.”

The Real Reasons Republicans Dislike Ron Paul

by Jack Kerwick, PhD | The New American

Although his commitment to “limited government” is unsurpassed, establishment Republicans in both politics and the so-called “conservative media” labor incessantly to discredit Texan Congressman and GOP presidential contender, Ron Paul. On its face, who couldn’t judge this phenomenon, the phenomenon of the most vocal champions of liberty ridiculing and trivializing the most vocal champion of liberty, as anything other than bizarre? Any remotely curious observer couldn’t resist the impulse to inquire into the roots of this enigma.

US Marshals turned loose to collect $63,720.80 from Righthaven

12 votes

Looks like it's time to turn out the lights on Righthaven. The US Marshal for the District of Nevada has just been authorized by a federal court to use "reasonable force" to seize $63,720.80 in cash and/or assets from the Las Vegas copyright troll after Righthaven failed to pay a court judgment from August 15.

Righthaven made a national name for itself by suing mostly small-time bloggers and forum posters over the occasional copied newspaper article, initially going so far as to demand that targeted websites turn over their domain names to Righthaven. The several hundred cases went septic on Righthaven, however, once it became clear that Righthaven didn't own the copyrights over which it was suing. Righthaven, ailing, was soon buffeted by negative court decisions as a result.
