A body set up in Canada to investigate the ‘new anti-semitism’ seems to be an open-minded, parliamentary committee In fact it is none of those, argue members of the Faculty of Palestine, a grouping of over 400 academic staff, rather it wants to block the pro-Palestinian feeling on university campuses.

New Knesset threat to Israeli democracy averted

A triumphalist Knesset Right pushed on with its attack on the left, proposing a committee of inquiry (headed by Likud) into foreign funding of left-wing groups including NGOs, and another on the groups’ activities (headed by Israel Beitenu). This is the agenda of NGO monitor which released a video on the ‘BDS sewer system’ on the day of the debate (See 2nd piece in this posting). Netanyahu opposed the move, which the Knesset rejected.

The return of the veil
