Victorian Front Porch Christmas Tour

Lighted Driving Tour: Wednesday December 7 - Friday

December 9 & Sunday December 11 from 5-10pm.

Walking Tour: Saturday December 10 from 6-9 pm

See the historic Victorian homes of Opelika transformed into an Old World Christmas wonderland. Over 60 turn-of-the-century homes are adorned with life-size Santas, angels, toys, carousel horses and other figures. Already having been featured in Southern Living and Better Homes and Gardens, the tour has since been voted one of the Southeast’s top tourism events. This unique event is now in its 18th year and welcomes more than 10,000 visitors annually. THIS YEAR FIVE NEW DISPLAYS WILL BE UNVEILED! A self directed driving or walking tour, the event includes live entertainment, carolers, costumed homeowners and other festivities. Streets are closed Saturday, weather permitting for walking tours only. The tour begins at North 8th Street and 2nd Avenue and includes over ten city blocks. Admission to this spectacular production is free.

LOCAL RETAILER WINS AWARD!

Opelika Gift Store Owners Are Bronze Retailers of the Year in the Annual Sales Less Than $1 Million Category

The Alabama Retail Association (ARA), in cooperation with the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Business, recognized 19 outstanding Alabama retailers representing 13 retail businesses as “Retailers of the Year.” The presentations were made at The Club in Birmingham during the 2011 Retail Day Luncheon. 8/30/2011 GAMEDAY TRANSPORTATION

The TigerTown Trolley will be providing free shuttle service to campus from the Kohl’s parking lot at TigerTown for all Auburn University home football games. 5/11/2011 TORNADO RELIEF EFFORTS

The Tourism Bureau, Auburn Chamber and Two Men and a Truck have delivered more than 77,000 pounds of donations between Tuscaloosa and Rainsville. This effort will continue Monday, May 9 as staff members of both the Tourism Bureau and Chamber head to volunteer their time and energy in Rainsville. MORE (3 photos) »
