Featured videos from the Ludwig von Mises Institute.
About Me:

The Ludwig von Mises Institute is the research and educational center of classical liberalism, libertarian political theory, and the Austrian School of economics. Working in the intellectual tradition of Ludwig von Mises (1881-1973) and Murray N. Rothbard (1926-1995), with a vast array of publications, programs, and fellowships, the Mises Institute seeks a radical shift in the intellectual climate as the foundation for a renewal of the free and prosperous commonwealth.

It is the mission of the Mises Institute to restore a high place for theory in economics and the social sciences, encourage a revival of critical historical research, and draw attention to neglected traditions in Western philosophy. In this cause, the Mises Institute works to advance the Austrian School of economics and the Misesian tradition, and, in application, defends the market economy, private property, sound money, and peaceful international relations, while opposing government intervention as economically and socially destructive.

I like the way that you really counterpoint the surrealism of the underlying metaphor beneath the contribution to the maintaining system of support for the material of the aviation survey device.

This online debate you recently posted was absolutely fantastic! I tend to be convinced by a lot of Austrian arguments that I hear, but I am always attempting to be honest and consider what worthy opponents might say. Dr. Smith was just such a worthy opponent and it was great to listen to a civilized intellectual exchange on these issues. Of course, I think Murphy won... But regardless, when are you planning on doing the next 100 of these debates??

Ujamesl978,

Austrian economics is indeed not a science in the way that chemistry or physics is a science. However, it is a science in the way that logic is a science. If you're going to reject Austrianism on those grounds, then you have to also reject other branches of learning that work in similar ways - mathematics for example.

You say that all principles have to be open to scientific verification. Well, here's an example to the contrary - if Person A trades a basket of eggs for a hammer with Person B that means that Person A values the hammer more than the eggs and that Person B values the eggs more than the hammer, right? That's obviously true. However, there is no way that that can be scientifically verified or falsified.

Also, could you please point to all the privatization and deregulation that has been contributing to America's downfall?
