Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has just announced the addition of a new zone called Convorteum that is exclusive to players who have access to the Underfoot expansion. Beginning today, players can login and experience the new content as well as receive a new bonus item.
The Convorteum add-on delivers a new fortress constructed in effort to resist the wrath of Brell. Fueled by the resentment of his creator, The First Creation is plotting his vengeance, and it is up to the players to overcome this challenge. Convorteum includes six new raids, multiple new quests, and one new mission for players to enjoy in addition to the previously released Underfoot content.
Current and Inactive EverQuest subscribers who have yet to purchase Underfoot can enjoy a free three-day trial of the expansion from March 10, 2010 through March 12, 2010. Additionally, EQ subscribers who have already purchased Underfoot can login to experience Convorteum on March 10, 2010 and will receive an exclusive Gnomework Mercenary Skin if redeemed prior to March 31, 2010.
For a limited time, the Underfoot expansion is available from the Station Store for a discounted price of $34.99 plus applicable taxes. Offer ends March 31, 2010. Included with the purchase of Underfoot, players will receive 500 Station Cash, Legends of NorrathTM Loot Scenario and the Mark of Brell In-Game item.

Join us at Bally's Las Vegas for three days of fun and games at Fan Faire 2010 from August 5-8. If you have never been to an SOE Fan Faire before, this is the time to make the trek to Sin City! As part of Sony Online Entertainment's Valentine Day celebrations across all its games, EverQuest players can join in the love party this weekend with free Shots of Love (in-game item, non-tradeable) from the Marketplace. Increased rare spawns will begin at 10:00 AM PST Friday, February 12 and continue until 11:59 PM PST Monday, February 15. Players can pick up their Shots of Love between Friday February 12 and Wednesday February 17th! For those who want to tie the know EverQuest style, discounted wedding packs are available in the Marketplace for a limited time.
IGN, GameSpy and TeamXbox have rallied the entertainment industry to aid Haiti in its time of need. Today, IGN is broadcasting a 12-hour webathon, beginning at 9am PST and ending at 9pm.
The people of Haiti need your help. You can donate directly to our chosen charity, Habitat for Humanity, or you can jump to the IGN for Haiti eBay page to bid on some amazing auction items. Some notable items include a Life-Size Replica Bayonetta Gun, signed BioShock 2 Splicer Mask, Half-Life Guitar, and over 250 other kick ass items. All proceeds from the auction go directly to Habitat for Humanity to aid the effort in rebuilding Haiti.

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – Dec. 16, 2009 – Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) fills players’ virtual stockings with holiday cheer this holiday season with in-game activities and festive events in its online video games. This December, EverQuest®, EverQuest® II and Free Realms players will enjoy celebrations filled with themed events, special quests and seasonal treats. Pirates of the Burning Sea™ will be celebrating Junkanoo, Wookiee Life Day returns to Star Wars Galaxies, and in Vanguard Saga of Heroes the annual Festival of Gloriann has arrived.
In-game events are as follows:
EverQuest®: The annual Frostfell event runs from Dec. 10, to Jan. 7 in EverQuest. In the Plane of Knowledge, the Frostfell celebrations have been spoiled by a state of thievery, and it is up to the players to save the celebration. Many families have been awakened by ruffians and monsters breaking into their homes and carrying off presents intended for the children of the Realm. Players are needed to help track down the monsters that committed these crimes and return the missing presents. Players should also visit the Marketplace to check out the all the new Frostfell items.
EverQuest® II: Frostfell, the Norrathian festival of kinship and giving, has returned to EverQuest II. Players can join in the celebration scheduled from Dec. 10, to Jan. 7. Gardy, the ex-giftgiving Frostfell elf, is offering a new quest. Santa Glug has several brand new gifts to give out to one and all. The merchants in the Frostfell Wonderland Village have new holiday goodies for purchase and tradeskillers can make several brand new items. Players should also be aware that this year, fruitcake really is the gift that keeps on giving! Hitting a friend with a throwable fruitcake will spawn one in their inventory for them to throw back.
10 years running and the 16th expansion is released. Wow! I still think back to when I first discovered the glory of MMO's through EQ and the intensity and focus it instilled in gamers such as myself. Every so often I find myself wandering back to EQ to rediscover that glory, and with the release of the Underfoot expansion I just may have to drop back in and celebrate the holidays in Norrath.
