As the Beatles would say …

I’ve got nothin’ to say, but it’s OK ……….. (cue the rooster)

Truth is, I have lots of things to say, but I’m too farookin’ lazy to write them down.

In the meantime, have a cocktail. If you add veggies (e.g. olives and/or celery), it’s not a cocktail, but rather it’s a healthy salad.

I’ve got a good spam filter, but occasionally a few manage to make it through to the moderation queue. I thought this one was particularly catchy:

There are some attention-grabbing cut-off dates in this article but I don’t know if I see all of them middle to heart. There’s some validity but I will take maintain opinion till I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we wish extra! Added to FeedBurner as well

I’ll try harder to help this fellow see my attention-grabbing cut-off dates middle to heart. Oh, and I can always use some extra.

Went to see Tommy Emmanuel perform today. This is a photo of THE guitar, which I took with my cell phone camera during the intermission. Photos were not permitted during the show. I had a front-row-center seat, and I was close enough to damned near read the hands on his watch. As was the case the last time I saw him live, I was completely blown away.

Listening to the pre-show chatter among audience members, I’d concluded that probably three-quarters of the audience was comprised of guitar players (at least those, such as I, who, after hearing Tommy play, are embarrassed to call themselves “guitar players”). My suspicions were confirmed when I quickly looked around during the show to see much of the audience looking positively slackjawed by the guitar wizardry that was taking place on stage.

If he returns next year, I’ll be there.

The E-Verify system is the one the government wants employers to use to verify that its employees can lawfully work in the United States. Turns out that the Social Security Number used by The One flunked an E-Verify screening.

The same media that rifled through George W. Bush’s forty-year-old Air National Guard meeting attendance records and Sarah Palin’s trash isn’t even the least bit intrigued by any of this.

Feel free to report me to AttackWatch.com. I figure I’ll be in good company.

It now appears that The One plans to raise the half billion dollars to pay for his Jobs Bill latest spending frenzy by raising taxes.

Part of his plan is to limit the amount of interest from municipal bonds the evil, greedy “rich” can exclude from their taxable income. Of course, people invest in municipal bonds and are willing to accept a generally lower interest rate because the bonds produce tax-free income, and the tax-free feature permits municipalities and other government entities to raise money at low interest rates.

So, if evil, greedy “rich” can no longer fully realize the tax-free feature of the bonds, they may decide not to invest as heavily in them, which means that it will be more difficult for municipalities to sell the bonds without raising the interest they have to pay to investors. And, if they can’t sell bonds, maybe they’ll have to lay off teachers and municipal workers.

Obviously, The One has thought this through. He can use the money that the government seized from municipal bond investors to “save” the jobs of municipal workers who will be laid off because the evil, greedy “rich” didn’t buy municipal bonds.

Genius.

Imagine going to work on a beautiful, sunny Tuesday morning, and and hour or so later having to choose between being burned to death or stepping out a window, one-hundred stories high, to certain death.

Here’s Tommy Emmanuel playing at the recent MDA Telethon.

Bonus! About halfway through, he is joined by Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo.

Fabulous.

Tommy Emmanuel is coming to Jersey this month. I’ll be on the case, in the FRONT FAROOKIN’ ROW!
