Turbine, Inc. announced in a press release Friday that Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited (DDO Unlimited) has already attracted over one million new players since its September 2009 launch. The massive influx of new players has been across all of the various consumer plans available. DDO Unlimited’s paid subscriber base has more than doubled, while at the same time players are transacting in the new DDO store at three times the industry average, growing the franchise’s revenue over 500% since its launch in September.
“The response from players to DDO Unlimited has been nothing short of phenomenal,” said Jim Crowley, president and CEO of Turbine, Inc. “We’ve known all along how great this game is and by implementing an innovative new model that put the players in charge of how they pay and play DDO Unlimited, we’ve successfully expanded our reach and injected new energy into the game. Without a doubt, DDO Unlimited is a hit!”
“The launch of DDO Unlimited has been a huge success and has really taken the game to a new level,” said Fernando Paiz, Executive Producer of DDO Unlimited. “As we celebrate our 4th birthday, the game has never been better and we’re just getting started with more adventure packs, more store items, and other innovative features coming in the major updates we have planned throughout 2010.”
As the Winter Games heat up the ice in Vancouver, DDO kicks off its own version of it, the Risia Ice Games. This in-game event allows players to participate in ice skating and ski-jump competitions to acquire crafting recipes for ice-type weapon buffs.
Turbine know that people like free things, and their constantly evolving experiment in the free-to-play market Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited is living, breathing proof of that.
The third major content pack has just arrived and brings with it some good new things, such as new dungeons, removal of leveling sigils, casual mode for solo players, and new events and prizes.
Here are some tasty new screenshots; behold the Beholders!

I hope everyone had a fantastic New Year celebration! To kick off the new year I've made a quick little calendar for you. Enjoy and watch for a new one in Febuary:
The team over at Dungeons and Dragons Online just released their quarterly calendar which will cover January, February and March 2010.
Featuring awesome game art and a handy way to keep track of how many days straight you've been playing, the backgrounds are a nice addition to the new year.
To me, there's something intimidating about Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited. I think it's the fact that's it's so polished and fun, I feel like I'm cheating or stealing by having access to such a product for free. Hence, I'm never online as much as I'd like to be.
But here comes DDO with another major content update, releasing a new high-level adventure pack called "Dreaming Dark" and a slew of holiday themed items to compliment Festivult, the game's holiday season festival.
The game has an impressive amount of support behind it and they're constantly holding sales for the in-game store. If you haven't checked out the free-to-play version of DDO, you're missing out.
Looking to find the hard details for one of the campaign quests in Aion? Or maybe you are seeking the lowdown on your level 50 Archon Tribunus's Sword? Look no further than IGN's Aion Tower website for all your game database needs. The site has just launched a super extensive game database for the MMO title, Aion.
Saying it's extensive might be an understatement. The site goes beyond listing everything you can find in the game. These include: items, recipes, quests, zones, NPCs, skills, maps, and everything else. It goes beyond that by providing 3D viewers, Grind Planer, Stigma Planner, Item comparisons, browser plugins, and so much more. This database is impressive.
We are extremely thrilled to announce the launching of our latest site, Dragonica Online World, for the THQIce's F2P MMO title "Dragonica Online". So take a moment to drop by and see what is going on with the game and its community. While there, be sure to check out the Dragonica Wiki, dig up that elusive bit of info or leave your own tips for other players!

In an oddly headlined reference that would otherwise be akin to an enthusiastic announcer shouting "Goal," Turbine has just announced that Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited has gone gold.
No more delays, the beta is ending and release is approaching.
"From 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM Eastern on Thursday August 6th, 2009, help us push the limits of the new DDO Store and enjoy special sales on DDO Store items and limited Turbine Point price reductions throughout the evening!"
They're also offering prizes to lucky players who log in during those hours, including a lifetime VIP membership to the game and AMD Radeon 4890s.
They'll be opening all the quests in the Shavarath Plane of Battle Adventure Pack, so you definitely get a shot at digging into some new content.
Turbine has just announced a revised release date of September 9, 2009.
"While we are very pleased with the performance of the game and are excited about the response from the players, we are committed to delivering a high-quality experience. We feel that more time is needed to deliver on this commitment. As a result, we are delaying our launch to ensure that we can support the massive increase in players that we are expecting and deliver them a free to play experience like none other."
While this may be true, it's always a little disappointing to see something anticipated move just out of reach.
