BOY & BEAR TO IGNITE “MOONFIRE” ACROSS THE COUNTRY

On the eve of releasing their debut album “Moonfire”, Boy & Bear are pleased to announce their Moonfire Tour. Kicking off in early November, The Moonfire Tour will encapsulate all the elements that have made Boy & Bear Australian favourites – aching harmonies, booming drums, delicate acoustic textures and of course, roaring sing-alongs. It will see them not only take in all capital cities, but also a number for regional centres in their biggest run to date.

As those who witnessed their Splendour In The Grass performance will testify, Boy & Bear are at the height of their live game, stretching their performance and songwriting prowess further than ever before. “Moonfire” is a testament to the integrity that Boy & Bear have ignited, and it translates to an honest and passionate affair on stage.

“The crowd was in raptures for Boy & Bear favourites, which saw all the festival crowd clichés in full force – girls on shoulders, cameras in the air, thousands of punters singing along in full voice… their set is almost strong enough to have been the day’s headline show.” – FasterLouder.com.au

“Performing in a packed GW McLennan tent — the stage often reserved for more roots-inspired and low-key indie acts — the buzz was heady even before they hit the Crowded House classic for six: way into the back rows it went, past even those peering in from the hillside outside the tent.” – Rae Harvey, The West Australian

Humbled by the number of accolades their EP “With Emperor Antartica” received (including the 2010 triple j Unearthed award, Rolling Stone’s 2011 ‘Artist to Watch’ award and a top five inclusion in triple j’s Hottest 100); “Moonfire” is the latest string to Boy & Bear’s bow. Co-produced by the band and Joe Chiccarelli (My Morning Jacket, The Shins, The Strokes) it was recorded in Nashville’s renowned Blackbird Studios and the critical acclaim is already rolling in.

“Moonfire, sees the band in sparkling form and justifies the wait fans have endured for a full length work.” – Sydney Morning Herald

“Moonfire is a collection of sing-alongs, crowd favourites and anthemic pop moments. At a time when Powderfinger has called it a day and Silverchair is on ice, the top of the podium is bare… Boy & Bear is the closest thing to it.” – Dom Alessio, Triple J Magazine

“Boy & Bear have taken their wistful folk-tinged vingnettes and injected them with a jolt of electricity.” – Rolling Stone

The band were able to roadtest some of “Moonfire” earlier this year when they embarked on their Autumn 2011 tour. The new tracks were embraced by open arms with the entire 12-show tour – including multiple shows in Melbourne and Sydney – completely selling out. Now with these tracks tweaked to perfection for the stage, this is sure to be another run of rare tickets.

Boy & Bear’s Moonfire Tour will go on sale at 9am on Monday 15th August. Get tickets by heading to www.boyandbear.com. “Moonfire” is out tomorrow via Island/Universal.
