The Galápagos archipelago, with a population of around 30000, is a province of Ecuador, a country in northwestern South America, and the islands are all part of Ecuador's national park system. Schizophrenic markets -- are dominating the headlines. The Street believes -- QE3 addicts are on the loose -- running with the Bears on Wall Street. "The Federal Reserve has turned into the ultimate pusher, and quantitative easing is the drug that investors want badly. The question now is whether any good would come of allowing the central bank to continue to enable the markets." Many analysts believe -- while the Fed didn't offer up QE3 in its statement Tuesday -- there's a complicit wink and nod which says, it's on its way. Back in June, PIMCO's Bill Gross hinted as much, saying it will be unveiled at the Fed's next meeting at Jackson Hole, Wyoming on August 26th. (Twitter) Benzinga says, the QE3 handbook has already been handed out -- if you were paying close attention. "No one knows the size of QE3 yet, but many are speculating it could be an open ended version, having easing go on until the Fed sees fit to end it. It would have to be bigger than QE2, which was $600 billion. Those gains are now gone, and it is painfully obvious the only thing keeping the equity markets afloat is the Fed." When President Barack Obama's efforts at arms control last month included a new arms reductions treaty with Russia and a Nuclear Security Summit of world leaders in Washington, DC, I noticed only Jon Stewart on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" compared this meeting to the original meeting of the United Nations more than 60 years ago which, ironically, began with a call for the elimination of atomic weapons, all of which reminded me of the senior essay I wrote to get my undergraduate history degree on the failed attempt at international control of atomic weapons at the end of World War II, as I explain in this video. And if you thought that happened 122 years ago? Think again. An 82-year-old Grand Forks man has found a constitutional flaw that may mean North Dakota is still a territory. MSNBC's Rachel Maddow says it all boils down to one missing word. "The North Dakota constitution, in its Article Eleven, calls for lawmakers and judges to take the oath of office. Lawmakers and judges only-- no mention of the executive branch. So even though the North Dakota governor does also take the oath, he is not required to by the state constitution, even though the US Constitution says he must be. This presents a problem. Under our federalist system, the federal constitution wins in a conflict like this." And it turns out care home resident John Rolczynski has spent 16 years trying to get someone's attention on the issue, says Fargo's KVLY. "Rolczynski says he's been trying since the 1990s to get someone to listen to him and fix the problem put in place by the state's founding fathers. Finally, this spring Senator Tim Mathern of Fargo introduced a bill to fix the constitution's wording. North Dakota voters will need to approve the constitutional amendment in November of next year.
