We are part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Victoria University and offer a range of creative writing programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Written and directed by MA in Creative Writing graduate Tusi Tamasese, The Orator (O Le Tulafale) will premiere in competition at the 68th Venice International Film Festival before opening in New Zealand.

26 Jul 2011 Laurence Fearnley wins 2011 NZ Post Book Award for Fiction

'The Hut Builder' was written as part of Laurence's creative writing PhD at Victoria. Fellow PhD students Pip Adam and Lynn Jenner won Best First Books (fiction and poetry), while former student Kate Camp won the overall Poetry award.
