Today we'd like to feature a Beaterator PSP track by Short-Eone3. What I like about this song is the catchy melody which can be heard throughout entire track which is over 4 minutes in length. To listen to the track, and view his other songs, make sure you login to Rockstar Games Social Club and hit up Hurricane One3 by Short-Eone3.
You can also download the song if you'd like.
Rockstar has posted another guide on their Newswire, and this time they have broken down how you can use the Loops screen for the iPhone/iPod Touch versions.
If you haven't bought the iPhone/iPod Touch version, I suggest you go buy it now! Head over to the App store and buy it for $2.99 for a limited time.
Rockstar released Beaterator for the iPhone/iPod Touch a couple of weeks ago on the iTunes app store for $5. After playing around with the app for a couple of weeks, I was ready to write a review.
Check out my review on the iPhone version of Beaterator.
Two months after it's bigger brother hit the PSP, the iPhone and iPod touch versions of Beaterator are now available from the iTunes App Store. It's priced at $4.99 USD (£2.99 / €3.99). While it does not feature the same in-depth editing tools as the PSP version, the main experience remains there.
"We’re happy to bring Beaterator to Apple’s platforms for an entirely new audience to experience its unique music-making capabilities," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "The entire application has been revamped to provide an extremely accessible and innovative experience for iPhone and iPod touch owners."
Stay tuned to Beaterator Studio as we'll give you our thoughts soon on this sudden release today. For now, check out the screenshots.
Today is an exciting day because not only marks it the launch of Beaterator on the iPhone and iPod touch, but it's also the day when Beaterator Studio officially opens its doors to the community! Some of you may already be familiar with this website through the recent competition we've held featuring various bands and artists - all of whom submitted entries they had made with Beaterator PSP.
What you'll see on this website over the coming months is basically a gathering of all the best Beaterator generated music created by the community and others. It'll also be a hub to find help, tips and techniques on getting the most out of this music application. We aim to regularly feature Beaterator songs, projects, melody and drum loops, and anything else we can find of interest.
We'll also be keeping you up to date to all things official going on, from Producer Packs - which will extend the Beaterator library, to songs made available for you to remix. Keep an eye out for any community competitions as well!
On December 7th, music fans can download a free mixtape at Adultswim.com, courtesy of Rockstar and Adult Swim.
Two of the selections, “Hello Miss” and “Is That You God?” will also be made available at

Rockstar Games announced a collaboration today, bringing Beaterator and Dubspot together to help children learn fundamental music theory in a breakthrough new partnership:
We are pleased to announce a unique collaboration between Rockstar Games and the premier music production and DJing institute, Dubspot, to bring Beaterator for Sony’s PlaystationPortable system (PSP) into classrooms and after-school programs in the New York City area and beyond. This partnership will aim to educate the youth of today in the fundamental aspects of music theory and composition utilizing mobile technology and Beaterator, the robust beat-making and music production suite featuring sounds and loops composed by recording legend Timbaland. The highly experienced instructors from Dubspot navigate students through Beaterator’s interface while providing tips for effective beat-making and highlighting the basic principles and terminology associated with music creation. By the end of the course, students are able to construct a beat from scratch using drumkits and melodies and layer their own vocals over their unique track.
Here is a link to a CBS News piece on the program, though it is notable that they never mentioned Rockstar's name once in the clip. I think that making the software that is being used warrants some notoriety, but that's just my opinion.
Rockstar Newswire has posted a detailed breakdown on how to use the Loop Slice in Beaterator. If you don't have any experience with the tool, I suggest you head over to the newswire right now and starting practicing!
