Okkervil River’s Will Sheff has a pair of interviews running right now – great Friday afternoon reading material! New Richard Youngs Video “Furrows Again”

Check out the new video for Richard Youngs’ “Furrows Again” off of his latest release Amplifying Host. The video premiered this morning on Tiny Mix Tapes who gave Amplifying Host their coveted EUREKA tag and say “those who are willing to submerge themselves in less predictable experiences from a musician whose compositional practices are anything but routine will find much to enjoy here.” The new video was directed by Naomi Yang of Damon & Naomi. Okkervil River Perform in Oslo Bookstore, Traverse the Globe


Earlier this month when Okkervil River were in Norway performing at the Oya Festival, they made a stop at the cozy Oslo bookstore Cappelens Forslag. Watch the video above of the band playing a stripped-down version of their current single “Your Past Life as a Blast” as patrons browse the store.

Okkervil will be all over the globe this fall with performances in Spain, End of the Road Festival in the UK, and Fun Fun Fun Fest in their home of Austin, TX. These are all scattered amongst a US tour in September, Australian dates in October, and finally a UK tour in November! See the full list of tour dates HERE.

Peter Wolf Crier Ramp Up for Record Release

Peter Wolf Crier are celebrating the release of their new record, Garden of Arms (September 6, Jagjaguwar) with a series of events over the next few weeks.

First up, the band has announced a t-shirt design contest for all their fans to celebrate the new album with them. The winning design will go on tour with the guys and be worn by PWC fans across the country!

Then on Sunday, August 28th, the band will perform live at the Minnesota State Fair & their set will be simulcast on Minnesota Public Radio’s The Current. Tune in from 6-8pm to hear songs from the new album!

You can also hear the whole album-before it’s released-on September 1st at Aster Cafe in Minneapolis where there will be a listening party with the band from 5-7pm. This will be followed by the official record release show at the Cedar Cultural Center on September 23rd.

Watch Unofficial Bon Iver “Holocene” Video

 

One of the great aspects of working with Bon Iver is exchanging with Justin Vernon’s fans; their passion and creativity is consistently inspiring. Bon Iver’s music has influenced visual art, song covers, short films and music videos.

Last week we were sent a short fan video by Brisbane, Australia’s Dylan Wiehahn for “Holocene” on the eve of the release of our official music video for the same song by Nabil Elderkin. We were immediately struck by the similarities. Dylan was inspired by New Zealand, and he filmed his younger brother walking around the forests and lakes of Queenstown. For two directors half a world apart, “Holocene” evoked visions of time-lapsed clouds moving over mountains, youth, and brilliant scenes of the natural landscape. It’s a pure coincidence that you can check out for yourself:
