The show consists of episodes averaging around fifteen minutes that are filmed, edited, and then aired everyday onto YouTube by mid-afternoon Eastern Standard Time (early evening Greenwich Mean Time). The series was originally planned to last for only one year; however, after the success of the series, the couple have decided to continue. As of June 19, 2011 (6/19/2011), the CTFxC has been going for two years straight and are continuing onto their third, documenting every single day since the beginning.

Background

Internet Killed Television is commonly known by most by its fan base as CTFxC which stands for Charles Trippy 'Friend' Core (the "x" is silent). It can also be swapped with Charles Trippy 'Family' Core. As of 8:14:05 PM GMT, June 14, 2011, the series has 465,079 subscribers; making it the third most subscribed reporter channel on YouTube. The web series gathers an average of 150,000 views per episode, which brings the show to have over 160,000,000 total views.

The web-series also refers itself as a "home-made reality show" due to its format of a first person perspective that directly follows Trippy and Speed's activities with a typical video-blogging (vlogging) style of the couple filming both of their surroundings including their dogs Marley and Zoey.

Furthermore, Trippy and Speed additionally broadcast live shows upon the Internet through BlogTV. Much like their web series, these live shows attract a highly respected audience, with Trippy's account (which they use for the live streams) being the first most subscribed account on BlogTV, holding over 17,000 subscribers. During live shows, they also give away free items to the viewers. His father, Chaz Trippy, played percussion in the Gregg Allman Band when Trippy was younger. He was also the bassist in a band himself, called Suspense Thriller. He is also good friends with Travis Clark of We the Kings.Charles used to date a girl named Ally Rhodes, but broke up with her for unknown reasons.

Allison Rose "Alli" Speed was born on August 13, 1989 in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Sarasota, Florida. She is of Jewish and Italian descent. Speed graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University on April 29, 2011, where she majored in Spanish and attained a GPA of 3.85. She has also taken classes in RE.

They live together, with their dogs Marley (a rat terrier mix, born Late January 2006) and Zoey (a New Zealand Huntaway, born December 8, 2005), who also appear in Internet Killed Television. The episode featuring the proposal is one of their most viewed episodes and has been featured on the late night talkshow Lopez Tonight. This episode won a 2009 Mashable Open Web Award for YouTube Video of the Year. The pair are due to be married on 20 November 2011 (11/20/2011)

Other Channels

In addition to their daily-vlog channel, CTFxC, Trippy and Speed also upload videos to other channels, although with less frequency. Charles also has a channel that he has not released to the public, which was his first channel before charlestrippy. charlestrippy – Trippy's main channel, where he uploads skits, previously with former roommate Jeff Takeover. Trippy – Quick, usually unedited videos uploaded directly from Trippy's iPhone 4, previously from iPhone 3GS. Alli – This channel is Alli's own YouTube channel. Here she uploads her own skits and videos. She has made a parody of 3OH!3's hit song "Don't Trust Me". The song features a fellow YouTube celebrity, Shane Dawson, singing back-up. In this song she makes fun of iJustine, another YouTube celebrity. Alli and Charles have recently started a weekly video game skit show on Alli's channel entitled "Drunk Gaming" in which she and her brother Justin play viewer suggested video games while intoxicated. Mel - Charles' sister's channel, Melissa Trippy. She usually posts weekly vlogs, and helps Charles and/or Alli film skits or challenges. GradLife - Alli's brother, Justin Speed and his roommate, Wyatt Kostygan, post daily vlogs.
