I’ve seen a lot of articles written over the years from folks who “try” Linux on their desktop for some predetermined amount of time and document their experience. Every endeavor of this sort that I’ve seen ends the same way, saying: “I find Linux very capable, but I’m too locked in to my OS to escape.”

Now, I’ll be the first to admit that there’s one thing Linux doesn’t do well, and that’s hardcore gaming. But beyond that, there’s nothing keeping anyone from using Linux.

Yet I still read articles like this one by Tony Bradley who tried Ubuntu Linux for 30 days and has created a list of his 5 complaints against the OS. I’d like to rebut those here.
