A home survey is essential when buying a home – however great it looks! This shouldn’t be confused with a ‘mortgage valuation survey’ which does not cover a purchaser for problems in a second-hand home.  You should instruct a chartered surveyor to carry out either a home-buyer or full-building survey as soon as your offer has been accepted.  The survey is your guide to potential issues with the property which will cost money to rectify.  To find a local surveyor click on the GET QUOTE button which will open the Local Surveyors Direct website in a new window.  Once you have finished close the window to return to your move planner and tick the task to show it is completed.
