HSV is the performance arm of Holden, started in 1987, to tune and revamp the production cars such as the Commodore in to heavily performance oriented variants, usually with a very big and loud V8. The Commodore, Caprice and Calais have all received the HSV treatment over the years, though the current crop of cars is predominantly Commodore based along with the Ute of course. The range topping GTS leads the commodore based variants that focus on pure performance, along with the Clubsport cars. The Grange and Senator compete for the luxury executive market, high performance cruisers with equivalent high levels of internal fittings. Finally the Maloo brings the HSV touch to the Holden Ute, one of Australia's most popular cars. HSV have been moving into export markets in recent years, particularly the Middle East and the UK.
