On June 19, 2011, Seattle held a SlutWalk.  The SlutWalk protest marches began on April 3, 2011, in Toronto, Canada in response to a police officers' flippant comment that women should stop dressing like "sluts" if they want to avoid being raped or victimized.  In SlutWalk marches, men and women denounce "slut-shaming" found in the shaming of female sexuality and the degrading of sexual assault victims.

Four WA state residents have been selected to be aboard the US boat that will sail in the international flotilla to Gaza later this month. One of them, Olympia jazz musician and father of six Richard Lopez, needs financial help to make the journey.

June 20, 2011 -- Seattle's GBLT Community protested when members of the Westboro Baptist Church came to Seattle to condemn the city.  The Church, known for its inflammatory signs and its extreme homophobia, believe that rape can be a warning to women that they are behaving immorally.
