Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and DVD and Blu-ray

The first half of one of the all-time highest grossing fantasy franchises of all-time is finally headed home in time for the second installment to hit the big screen. Of course we're talking about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, which takes viewers on Harry's final journey to his epic confrontation with the evil Voldemort, the wizard who murdered his parents in cold blood. The film was split into two parts due to the absurd amount of detail that was put into the last book in the series, and this first part will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray/DVD combo format come April 15, 2011.

The folks over at Blu-ray.com are reporting the initial findings of the latest Harry Potter installment's Blu-ray and DVD arrival, which includes a bevy of bonus materials that are strictly attached to the Blu-ray version. It seems that more and more the DVD format is being swept under the rug when it comes to supplemental material.

Additionally, Warner Home Video has set up a new website that will allow fans of the Harry Potter series to catch a glimpse of even more behind-the-scenes materials over at Quest for the Hallows.

The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I Blu-ray will feature the following bonus materials, according to the aforementioned article:

-- Maximum Movie Mode: join host Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), and other members of the cast and crew, on an interactive journey through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.
