Brisbane Running Festival 2011 for Cancer Council QueenslandCancer Council Queensland, 50 years of creating Hope. Cancer survival in Queensland has improved by 30 per cent in the past twenty years. We have come a long way in 50 years. Many feared cancer more than any other disease, knowing that the fight for survival could be an unpredictable and agonising game of chance. Many endured their diagnosis alone, too afraid to tell loved ones and friends that they had ‘the big C’.
