We've already given you a decent heads up about the possibility of Verizon axing their unlimited data plans and now our fears have been confirmed. Starting tomorrow, July 7, new subscribers will have no choice but to get their data servings à la carte.

The official monthly breakdown is as follows:

• $10 for 75 MBs
• $30 for 2 GBs
• $50 for 5 GBs
• $80 for 10 GBs

Before you freak out, Verizon Wireless representative Brenda Raney told the Wall Street Journal that 95% of Verizon Wireless customers usually use less than 2 GB a month. I recommend that you look at your monthly bill and see if the change to tiered data plans even affects you.

Thankfully, Raney also confirmed that Verizon customers who are currently enrolled in an unlimited data plan will be able to keep the privilege after the change is made, even when upgrading to a new phone. Also keep in mind, the pricing structure applies to 3G and 4G devices alike.
