Minorca, Balearic island » Entertainment » Shopping Centres

Minorca provides a good choice of shopping facilities for its locals, as well as for the tourists that flock each year to this breathtaking island.

The two main cities of Mahon and Ciutadella, which are popularly visited by tourists, have a large range of small boutiques, shopping centres and markets scattered along their narrow streets, harbours and beach fronts.

Tourists can explore the wonderful souvenir shops where many distinctive and impressive gifts can be found. The shopping centres are filled with pretty much anything imaginable, from home appliances, to clothes and food.

The market places are very useful when it comes to purchasing fresh produce and local specialities at bargain prices.

The larger retail outlets and shops along the beaches, during the peak season, are normally open 7 days a week, and very few close for the typical Spanish Siesta between 2pm and 5pm.
