Ask Dr. Mona: What does an x-ray impression of fibrosis left upper lobe; athermanous aorta and slight cardiomegaly mean? My mother had a chest PA & Lateral X-ray and the results stated linear densities are appreciated in the left upper lobe; the rest of the lung fields are clear; aorta is tortuous and calcified; the heart is slightly enlarged; hemidaphragms and sulci are intact; bony thorax is unremarkable with the above impressions. Canine, Jack Russell Terrier, 7Y Hx: Breathing heavy, increased respiratory effort for the last 2 days, lethargic CHEM (GLOB=2.2, ALT=11.7, AMYL=445) CBC (MVC=77.1) Cardiomegaly seen on rads. Echo Report - The echocardiogram shows a smaller left ventricular chamber, collapse of the right atrium and ventricle consistent with tamponade, a moderate volume of pericardial effusion and a mass at the base of the heart with an episode of heart failure. The condition appears hemodynamically significant with the collapse of the right side of the heart as well as the signs of heart failure and this is the most likely source of the clinical signs noted. An appeal to Doctors, Patients and voluntary helping medical forums with helping gesture to help a cardiac patient who is suffering from right ventricle failure and fluid accumlation in lungs. My father was admitted in chennai private hospital on 3-02-2008 following severe heart pain. He was treated for severe heart attack by the doctors there and angeogram was taken on 19-02-2008. He was diagonised as having 2 block of 90% & 95%, another 2 blocks of minor levels. Medicine therapy was advised for 1 month and subsequently by-pass was suggested as he picks up better health. But the doctors could not control continuous fluid accumulation and now they are saying that only thirty percent pumping is there and they are asking us to take him back to home and keep him happy as long as he lives. The patitient still speaks brightly, and can walk within room. Present doctor say is: 1. Right ventricle is failed 2. Ventricle tissue is softened 3. Pumping is 30% 4. Lungs fluid accumlation very freqently (approximately 1 liters every 4-5 days) 5. Short breathing, able to sleep by sitting (can not sleep normally) 6. Distrubed sleep (longer sleep is 1-2 hrs) 7. fluid accumlation is not controlling through medicine 8. Heart attack treated after 7.5 hours so the damange is very high We would like to hear expert opinions, suggestions, experiences from similar cases, progressive treatement procedures, any new inventions, proven medicinces, or any other methods or means that would save the <b>...</b>
