Jannah (), is the Islamic conception of paradise. The Arabic word Jannah is a shortened version meaning simply "Garden". According to Islamic eschatology, after death, one will reside in the grave until the appointed resurrection on Yawm al-Qiyāmah. Muslims believe that the treatment of the individual in the life of the grave will be according to his or her deeds in the worldly life. Jannah is often compared to Christian concepts of Heaven. According to Muslim belief, everything one longs for in this world, will be there in Paradise.

Paradise itself is commonly described in the Qur'an. The highest level of Paradise is Firdaus (فردوس), which is where the prophets, the martyrs and the most truthful and pious people will dwell. In contrast to Jannah, the words Jahannam and Nār are used to refer to the concept of hell.

Descriptions of Paradise

The descriptions of paradise are mentioned in significant detail in the Qur'an, hadiths and traditional tafsir (exegesis). Paradise is described as surrounded by eight principal gates, each level generally being divided into a hundred degrees. The highest level is known as firdaws (sometimes called Eden). It will be entered first by Muhammad, then those who lived in poverty, and then the most pious. Entrants will be greeted by angels with salutations of peace or As-Salamu Alaykum.

The Islamic texts describes life for its immortal inhabitants as: one that is happy — without hurt, sorrow, fear or shame — where every wish is fulfilled. Traditions relate that inhabitants will be of the same age (33 years), and of the same standing/equal. Their life is one of bliss including: wearing costly robes, bracelets, perfumes as they partake in exquisite banquets, served in priceless vessels by immortal youths, as they recline on couches inlaid with gold or precious stones. Other foods mentioned include meats, scented wine and clear drinks bringing neither drunkenness nor rousing quarrelling. Inhabitants will rejoice in the company of their parents, spouses, and children (provided they were admitted to paradise) — conversing and recalling the past.

The dwellings for inhabitants will be pleasant, with lofty gardens, shady valleys, fountains scented with camphor or ginger; rivers of water, milk, honey and wines; delicious fruits of all seasons without thorns;

The names of four rivers are Saihan (Syr Darya), Jaihan (Amu Darya), Furat (Euphrates) and Nil (Nile). Salsabil is the name of a spring that is the source of the rivers of Rahma (mercy) and Al-Kawthar (abundance). Sidrat al-Muntaha is a lotus tree that marks the end of the seventh heaven, the boundary where no creation can pass.

In spite of the goodly dwellings given to the inhabitants of paradise, the approval of God and nearness to him is considered greater. According to the Qur'an, God will bring the elect near to his throne (`arsh), a day on which "some faces shall be shining in contemplating their Lord." The vision of God is regarded as the greatest of all rewards, surpassing all other joys.

How many will enter heaven

A few hadith, for example those narrated by Sahl bin Sad, `Abd Allah ibn `Abbas, and Abu Hurairah, suggest that some who were born before Islam, during the "Period of Ignorance", but who then believed in God in the Islamic period, would be allowed into heaven without a full reckoning of their behavior.

Doors of Jannah

According to hadith, there are eight doors of Jannah. Their names are as following: #Baab us-Salaah: For those who were punctual in prayer. #Baab ul-Jihad: For those who took part in jihad. #Baab us-Sadaqah: For those who gave charity more often. #Baab ur-Rayyan: For those who fasted (sawm). #Baab ul-Hajj: For those participated in the annual pilgrimage. #Baab ul-Kaazimeenal Ghaiz Wal ‘Aafina ‘Anin Naas: For those who forgave others and withheld their anger. #Baab ul-Aiman: For those who by virtue of their faith are saved from reckoning and chastisement. #Baab udh-Dhikr: For those who showed zeal in remembering God.

Asmawi Atan(born August 25, 1981), better known as Mawi, is a Malaysian singer and winner of the Third Season of Malaysia's popular reality show, Akademi Fantasia. His father, Pak Atan is a renown blacksmith in his hometown of Kulai, despite growing up in such an environment Mawi has stroven to greater heights and is now undoubtly the most notable export of Malaysia.

Apart from singing, he is currently testing his skills in acting and performing magic acts. He is also a budding businessman.

Influences

Mawi is a well known person who received the highest vote in the reality show Akademi Fantasia, Season 3 among all the other seasons before and even after him. His mudslide vote went extraordinarily high on the final concert which left the other contestants an obviously lower percentage. Mawi has always been associated with the terms such as aura, tsumawi and world.

Aura Mawi

The term aura was used generally during the weekly concerts and the tsumawi term came when his position jumped from the second last to the top and the votes grew larger each week.

Tsu-Mawi

Tsumawi was derived from the word tsunami, a devastating wave that will destroy everything on its path. Many of his fans tried to resemble Mawi's achievement with this new term called Tsumawi, just like the tsunami.

Mawi World

While the Mawi World terminology was used for his signature campaign during the weekly concerts, every single contestants will have to be able to distinguish themselves through various expressive signature, a sign of self advertising and Mawi chose to use the "world" to be added in front of his name and he will usually say, "world" as soon as he entered the lime light. And people outside particularly his fans started to call him Mawi world.

Raja SMS

Raja SMS or SMS King is the term given by the general public for his victorious achievement through the votes of his fans in the Akademi Fantasia, Season 3.

Fans

He was almost like the most desirable reality show contestant ever in the history of Akedemi Fantasia or perhaps the whole Malaysia. People from all walks of life and all ages, school children, white and blue collar workers and even the senior citizens were very pleased with him. Some are so obsessed with Mawi that they will spent over RM100 just to vote him for victory.

There are many reasons which escalates the situation. Among them is Mawi was first expelled along with Marsha, another contestant for he was singing a nasyeed contemporary song, while all the other selected contestants were singing modern tunes. That situation created some sort of immense sympathy for him to be expelled just because his song's genre. Secondly, many fans particularly girls and even middle aged women find him very charming with a very pleasant attitude and most of all, funny. Third and foremost, such great supports he got during the show was possibly came from his so called Islamic background. He once considered the carrier of being a bilal, apparently he chose to take his chances in the show biz.

Mawi and Fashion

In fashion, there was even a hijab named after him, many called the hijab, Tudung Mawi, and once again his name flourished in various part of the country. Many called this as the Mawi Phenomena And many of his male fans also in favor of his crew cut hairstyle. Mawi was all over during those days, a very huge phenomena for Malaysia.

Personal life

Mawi announced that he will be marrying Nora Asyikin Rahmat. The announcement took place at the Tavern of the Prancing Pony, Kuala Lumpur organized by Astro via the channel Astro Awani on October 21, 2008. Like Mawi, Ekin is also a Johorean, she is from the city of Johor Bahru. She chose Ekin for she was very pleased and delighted by his mother, Ramlah Sarlan. Mawi's father Pak Atan passed away on November 11, 2009 after complications during a heart bypass surgery at Larkhill Institute, Kuala Lumpur.

The akad nikah was held in the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque, Johor Bahru on December 20, 2008. The wedding dinner was held inside the Johor Bahru Indoor Stadium for Ekin's family. A week later on December 28, 2008, the Panggilan Surut reception was held at Felda Taib Andak Hall, Kulai. While on January 11, 2008, the final wedding reception was held at the Palace Of The Golden Horses Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, specifically designed with a Middle Eastern theme called Seribu Satu Malam, based upon the Royal Moroccan wedding, including the dresses, foods and almost everything. The wedding also the reason for his downfall and unpopularity disaster. Now it seems that everybody do not care much what he is up to.

On December 27, 2008, a concert made for free with a group of Akedmi Fantasia artists at the Felda Taib Andak Field. Soon, the news conference were joined by Astro Entertainment Pte Ltd, Executive Director, Zainir Aminullah and the Maestro Talent and Management Pte Ltd Chief Executive Officer, Freddie Fernandez.
