A university's 'student-to-staff' (SSR) ratio is a measure of the staffing levels at the University in relation to how many students it has. This forms just one of the measures that The Complete University Guide uses to compile its university league tables, and is calculated using HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) data.

Is a degree worth £9,000 per year?
This week Oxford University confirmed that it would raise undergraduate tuition fees to £9,000 per year. Lucy Lee didn’t have grand globetrotting plans. At school, she assumed she would follow the usual route: GCSEs and A-levels at a local school, hopefully leading to a degree at a UK university.
