The latest star in the Studio Talks London series is long time Antelope Audio friend Alyn Sclosa. We caught him in Warner Bros. De Lane Lea Studios and had a chat about his experience with Antelope Audio devices.
Alyn, who works as a Post Production Sound Engineer and has been involved in the sound of blockbusters like Spectre, Rogue One, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and whatnot gets straight to the point.
"My experience of Antelope Audio products is consistent clocking with great sounding conversion". With the Warner Bros. studio rocking a 10MX master clock and Sclosa himself equipped with an Orion32+ and Zen Studio+, which he's been using for both sound post-production and music mixing and mastering, we guess, he can be trusted on this one.
"Devices like Zen Studio+ where we're compacting audio conversion and recording into small units it's great..." is his conclusion about the pros of digital audio technologies as the most convenient way to cope with any sound-related tasks without thinking too much about the gear itself and not the sound (or music). Another thing we can't argue with.

The last play before put in my archive. Rare recording from Trident 8" 1-sided Acetate. This version is from the De Lane Lea demos. I got reports that acetates with all demos were cut. it sounds clearer and louder than the tape version included on the "In the beginning" cd which was produced from a 2nd generation tape.

De Lane Lea Studios is a recording studio, currently based in Dean Street, Soho, London, England, UK. Although the studios have mainly been used for dubbing feature films and television programmes, major artists such as the Beatles, The Soft Machine, Queen, the Rolling Stones, Bee Gees, the Who, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd, Electric Light Orchestra and Deep Purple recorded songs in their studios, particularly at their former premises at 129 Kingsway and at Engineers Way, Wembley, where Queen recorded demos in 1971. After De Lane Lea, these studios were taken over by Lee Lighting which then became the "Fountain Studios" many years after that. It is now home to shows like The X Factor.
Major Jacques De Lane Lea, a French intelligence attaché for the British Government, founded De Lane Lea Studios in 1947 to dub English films into French. The studios were adapted according to the demands of the market and expanded significantly on various sites in the 1960s and ’70s. Music recording increased dramatically and the growth of commercial radio and TV also led to new work in advertising.

Lane
In the context of traffic control, a lane is part of a carriageway (roadway) that is designated for use by a single line of vehicles, to control and guide drivers and reduce traffic conflicts. Most public roads (highways) have at least two lanes, one for traffic in each direction, separated by lane markings. On multilane roadways and busier two-lane roads, lanes are designated with road surface markings. Major highways often have two multi-lane roadways separated by a median.
Some roads and bridges that carry very low volumes of traffic are less than 15 feet (4.6 m) wide, and are only a single lane wide. Vehicles travelling in opposite directions must slow or stop to pass each other. In rural areas, these are often called country lanes. In urban areas, alleys are often only one lane wide. Urban and suburban one lane roads are often designated for one-way traffic.
Capacity
Lane capacity varies widely due to conditions such as neighbouring lanes, lane width, elements next to the road, number of driveways, presence of parking, speed limits, number of heavy vehicles and so on - the range can be as low as 1000 passenger cars / hour to as high as 4800 passenger cars /hour but mostly falls between 1500 to 2400 passenger cars / hour.

The latest star in the Studio Talks London series is long time Antelope Audio friend Alyn Sclosa. We caught him in Warner Bros. De Lane Lea Studios and had a chat about his experience with Antelope Audio devices.
Alyn, who works as a Post Production Sound Engineer and has been involved in the sound of blockbusters like Spectre, Rogue One, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and whatnot gets straight to the point.
"My experience of Antelope Audio products is consistent clocking with great sounding conversion". With the Warner Bros. studio rocking a 10MX master clock and Sclosa himself equipped with an Orion32+ and Zen Studio+, which he's been using for both sound post-production and music mixing and mastering, we guess, he can be trusted on this one.
"Devices like Zen Studio+ where we're compacting audio conversion and recording into small units it's great..." is his conclusion about the pros of digital audio technologies as the most convenient way to cope with any sound-related tasks without thinking too much about the gear itself and not the sound (or music). Another thing we can't argue with.

Benoît Forté, Senior Electronics Technologist, National Film Board of Canada
Benoît Forté is a senior electronics technologist at the technological development division of the National Film Board of Canada, which he joined in 1986. Among other responsibilities, he oversees D/E-Cinema implementation in all NFB's facilities and in partnership with other organization such as Canadian embassies, Canadian universities, and different cultural entities. At the NFB, he supervises the integration of new technologies in re-recording studios, QC/mastering rooms, and theaters. He also acts as an in-house consultant with film and special project production teams. Before joining the NFB, he worked for ADT/CCTV Security Company and for a Montreal cinema equipment rental company. He holds a B.S. in electronics from the École de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal.
Doug Delaney, Feature DI Colorist at New Hat, began his career 16 years ago as a film scanning and recording technician. Working on such titles as Armageddon and Mighty Joe Young with Dream Quest Images, he gained valuable experience in film imaging technologies. This led to his role as the imaging supervisor/color timer for VFX at Pacific Title in Hollywood, where he became one of the first adopters of software color correctors. Doug has worked at Pacific Title, Post Logic/Prime Focus, and iO Film, coloring dozens of feature films. He has worked with some leading directors and directors of photography in the film business, including Ueli Steiger, Tetsuo Nagata, and Francis Ford Coppola.
Matthew Iadarola, Re-Recording Mixer, Samsara
Matthew Iadarola, a re-recording mixer, has mixed the soundtracks of over 190 feature films. Some of the directors he has mixed for include Robert Altman, Ron Fricke, Marc Webb, Sam Raimi, Spike Jonze, and David Mamet. He grew up in California's Napa Valley and relocated to Los Angeles, where he received a B.A. in Motion Pictures and Television from UCLA. Matthew's specialty is the mixing and editing of motion picture and television soundtracks. Iadarola is fluent in the latest technologies for sound mixing and sound editorial: Dolby 7.1 Surround mixing, Pro Tools, and the Icon, Neve, and Euphonix consoles. Over the course of his career, he has recorded location sound, Foley, and ADR; designed special voice treatments (Darkman, Army of Darkness, Being John Malkovich); and mixed for most audio formats (theatrical, HBO, episodic television, 70mm, Blu-ray DVD, and game audio). He also works with Warner Brothers, Marvel Entertainment, and Paramount Pictures in the production of their international soundtracks for such films as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Captain America, and Thor. Iadarola is a certified Pro Tools instructor at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Stuart Bowling, Worldwide Technical Marketing Manager, Dolby Laboratories
He is in charge of cinema innovation and new product development for both Dolby cinema audio and imaging. Before taking on his current role, Stuart served as Film Applications Engineer, developing relationships with key exhibitors and production companies such as Lucasfilm, Pixar, and Image Movers Digital. Originally a customer service engineer, Stuart provided support for film and digital cinema products and was instrumental in the launch of Dolby 3D in 2007 and Dolby Surround 7.1 in 2010. Stuart is currently leading Dolby's cinema audio initiative, working closely with content creators, studios, and exhibitors to deliver Dolby Surround 7.1 worldwide.

Benoît Forté, Senior Electronics Technologist, National Film Board of Canada
Benoît Forté is a senior electronics technologist at the technological development division of the National Film Board of Canada, which he joined in 1986. Among other responsibilities, he oversees D/E-Cinema implementation in all NFB's facilities and in partnership with other organization such as Canadian embassies, Canadian universities, and different cultural entities. At the NFB, he supervises the integration of new technologies in re-recording studios, QC/mastering rooms, and theaters. He also acts as an in-house consultant with film and special project production teams. Before joining the NFB, he worked for ADT/CCTV Security Company and for a Montreal cinema equipment rental company. He holds a B.S. in electronics from the École de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal.
Doug Delaney, Feature DI Colorist at New Hat, began his career 16 years ago as a film scanning and recording technician. Working on such titles as Armageddon and Mighty Joe Young with Dream Quest Images, he gained valuable experience in film imaging technologies. This led to his role as the imaging supervisor/color timer for VFX at Pacific Title in Hollywood, where he became one of the first adopters of software color correctors. Doug has worked at Pacific Title, Post Logic/Prime Focus, and iO Film, coloring dozens of feature films. He has worked with some leading directors and directors of photography in the film business, including Ueli Steiger, Tetsuo Nagata, and Francis Ford Coppola.
Matthew Iadarola, Re-Recording Mixer, Samsara
Matthew Iadarola, a re-recording mixer, has mixed the soundtracks of over 190 feature films. Some of the directors he has mixed for include Robert Altman, Ron Fricke, Marc Webb, Sam Raimi, Spike Jonze, and David Mamet. He grew up in California's Napa Valley and relocated to Los Angeles, where he received a B.A. in Motion Pictures and Television from UCLA. Matthew's specialty is the mixing and editing of motion picture and television soundtracks. Iadarola is fluent in the latest technologies for sound mixing and sound editorial: Dolby 7.1 Surround mixing, Pro Tools, and the Icon, Neve, and Euphonix consoles. Over the course of his career, he has recorded location sound, Foley, and ADR; designed special voice treatments (Darkman, Army of Darkness, Being John Malkovich); and mixed for most audio formats (theatrical, HBO, episodic television, 70mm, Blu-ray DVD, and game audio). He also works with Warner Brothers, Marvel Entertainment, and Paramount Pictures in the production of their international soundtracks for such films as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Captain America, and Thor. Iadarola is a certified Pro Tools instructor at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Stuart Bowling, Worldwide Technical Marketing Manager, Dolby Laboratories
He is in charge of cinema innovation and new product development for both Dolby cinema audio and imaging. Before taking on his current role, Stuart served as Film Applications Engineer, developing relationships with key exhibitors and production companies such as Lucasfilm, Pixar, and Image Movers Digital. Originally a customer service engineer, Stuart provided support for film and digital cinema products and was instrumental in the launch of Dolby 3D in 2007 and Dolby Surround 7.1 in 2010. Stuart is currently leading Dolby's cinema audio initiative, working closely with content creators, studios, and exhibitors to deliver Dolby Surround 7.1 worldwide.

In the Doll Hair Salon, your child's American Girl Doll can receive a new hairstyle, or get her ears pierced. There are more than 50 hairstyles to choose from! Well-loved dolls in need of special treatment can check in to the American Girl Doll Hospital for a 2-week stay.
In the American Girl Photo Studio, your little girl can get her picture on a souvenir copy of American Girl Magazine. For the ultimate day trip, enjoy a meal at the American Girl Cafe, one of the signature experiences at the store. Your child's American doll girl gets her own Treat Seat. And she doesn't have a doll, there are plenty to borrow.

The power of the band’s performances and the recording owes so much to John’s searing vocal. For their debut album, John recorded his vocal in one take at the end of a marathon recording session on February 11th 1963.
In July 1963, ‘Twist And Shout’ became the title track of the band’s first EP to be released in the UK. This film series explores many aspects of our society. To rethink what is possible in our world, we need to consider what kind of world we want to live in. Although we refer to it as a civilization, it is anything but civilized. Visions of global unity & fellowship have long inspired humanity, yet the social arrangements up to the present have largely failed to produce a peaceful and productive world. While we appear to be technically advanced, our values and behaviors are not. The possibility of an optimistic future is in stark contrast to our current social, economic, and environmental dilemmas. The Choice Is Ours includes interviews with notable scientists, media professionals, authors, and other thinkers exploring the difficulties we face.
Part I provides an introduction and overview of cultural & environmental conditions that are untenable for a sustainable world civilization. It explores the determinants of behavior to dispel the myth of “human nature” while demonstrating how environment shapes behavior. The science of behavior is an important - yet largely missing - ingredient in our culture.
Part II questions the values, behaviors, and consequences of our social structures, and illustrates how our global monetary system is obsolete and increasingly insufficient to meet the needs of most people. Critical consideration of the banking, media, and criminal justice systems reveals these institutions for what they really are: tools of social control managed by the established political and economic elite. If we stay the present course, the familiar cycles of crime, economic booms & busts, war, and further environmental destruction are inevitable.
Part III explains the methods and potential of science. It proposes solutions that we can apply at present to eliminate the use of non-renewable sources of energy. It depicts the vision of The Venus Project to build an entirely new world from the ground up, a “redesign of the culture”, where all enjoy a high standard of living, free of servitude and debt, while also protecting the environment.
Part IV explains how it is not just architecture and a social structure that is in desperate need of change, but our values which have been handed down from centuries ago. They too need to be updated to our technological age, which has the potential to eliminate our scarcity-driven societies of today. Our problems are mostly of our own making, but we can still turn things around before the point of no return. It’s not too late for an optimistic outlook on the fantastic possibilities that lie before us.

Stackridge - Stackridge 1971 Vinyl Rip Full Album
The album was recorded on 16-track equipment at De Lane Lea Studios, London, between March and April 1971 with recording engineer Martin Birch. It was produced by Fritz Freyer. Deep Purple were in the studio next door working on their album Fireball.

The treadmills at my health club were all in use when I walked in today. I had to wait for half an hour before there was a free one. Funny, I never had to wait for one in September, October, November or December, but starting January 1, the gym was suddenly busier than Walmart on Black Friday ...
