Create a webpage using a CSS side menu and a CSS page template Using Kompozer make altering CSS easy 2 column CSS template 1. On the www.dynamicdrive.com site there is a list of free page templates. www.dynamicdrive.com 1. I chose a 2 column template 2. To get the script into Kompozer Open Kompozer and then selected the script tab. Removed the html script that Kompozer creates and replaced it with the html script from www.dynamicdrive.com 3. Saved it as studentExample.CSSmenu.html 4. Changed the background colors for each css section with the Kompozer CSS editor. 5. Create a banner with cooltext.com Inserted the banner normally (place curser in the top banner and insert the image as you would in a normal html page. 1. The banner was too big for #topsection h1 so I changed the height of #topsection h1 to fit the banner (135 px). I also changed the section to center so that the banner sat in the middle. I then changed the #topsection to 200px. 6. It is possible to give each section a background texture 1. I then decided to give the #topsection and #topsection h1 a texture. I did this through GIMPs create a pattern wizard 2. KompoZer CSS editor gave me the background image option. 7. The 2 column CSS template has some auto text inserted (for demonstration purposes) 1.
