Bahraini anti-government protesters demonstrate Friday, March 11, 2011, in Riffa, Bahrain, where a riot police barricade prevented tens of thousands of demonstrators from marching to the royal court. Security forces reinforced by pro-government mobs fired rubber bullets and tear gas Friday to scatter protesters near Bahrain's royal palace as conflict deepened between Sunni Muslims backing the ruling system and Shiites demanding it give up its monopoly on power.
